Thank you! I bought a 2002 X5 and only 1 of the Key Fobs worked. After some Internet research I was about to order a new battery and replace it. One of the battery reviewers on Amazon stated that after cutting his Fob apart and testing the battery it was actually good and had a full charge, turned out he just needed to pair it to the car again so I thought I'd give it a try. After watching your video and 1 other I gave it a try and it worked. Then my other key didn't work so I paired it and it worked but the first key didn't, turns out you have to pair them both again at the same, consecutively, after turning the ignition to the first On position. Glad I didn't go through the whole battery replacement process unnecessarily.

Thanks Nathan. I did an X3 front axle a couple of days ago. In my front driveway. It’s already cold here. Anyways, the inner elbow bearings were complete off the assembly. Boot torn up. Just silently waiting to jam up. Anyway, a shop wanted 900$. I have it but I have other bills too. Got a good one from same place all the shops here get it. Threw it in myself. Had to rent tools.. less than 150$ out of pocket. I wanted to record it too. There isn’t a good one on here. Anyways. Thanks. These how to are great to have. Good job.

Of all the videos i watched,your is the only one to work. Others said to lock doors,cycle 5 times,turn key till lights come on, nothing. But yours worked great first time.

Great information tip on programming my new cut key with remote, all along it was a blown fuse in the trunk, i tried all the programming method and nothing worked, until i changed the fused 😊

WOW! WHO KNEW IT WAS JUST A RE PROGRAM ISSUE! at first thought it was the battery was watching videos of replacing it but heard risky on that SPECIALLY IF REPLACING WITH A NON RECHARGEABLE BATTERY so was gonna just get me another one thank God I was able to watch this video it saved me some money !!

Hello Nathan. Thanks I'll try this.01 X5. My original key battery is dead. I was able to turn the key right on the door and the entire car would lock and turn left and all doors would unlock. I'd hear a beeping sound as well I guess to let me know if the security system was disabled or not. That suddenly stopped working. Any ideas where to start?

Hey Nathan, I have the issue that you described with those e46 ebay keys,. So mine should be an original one, but all of the sudden I can unlock, lock the car, use all the electrical stuff such as radio, head and tail lights, and fog lights as well, but the car would start whenever it wants. eventually it always starts, but it can take up to 20 tries. Sometimes, when I press down on the unlock button and hold for at least 5 secs, it starts. What would you and the other guys in the comments suggest?

Watched your video and that didn't work but I have x3 07 so I actually went and turned to Acc and pressed the unlock and 3 times lock on the key fob and it cycled the locks . Still that you for everything that to share

Hey Nathan, great video. I had 2003 535 and it used to roll down and roll up windows and sunroof with key fob unlock and lock buttons. I recently got 2006 X5 and it rolls down windows and sunroof with key fob unlock button but it does not roll them back when I press the lock button. Any ideas what could be the reason or how to activate this feature. Thanks

Question I had my original key on an X5 e53 which stopped working completely I purchased a new one from my local dealer and they programmed my fob (lock/unlock) function I purchased a couple more off eBay after market I tried to program a total of 3 keys but for some reason it only lets me program a total of 2 I'm assuming that it's because it must have a total of 4 keys programmed to it meaning the 2 original keys that the vehicle came with the vehicle when new (only got one when I purchased the vehicle) Which is the one that stopped working the new one I bought from the dealer direct that would be the 3rd key and 1 of the 2 that I purchased from eBay. To make it a total of 4 keys programmed keys to the vehicle but 1 of the keys that came with the truck when new I didn't get and the other that i did get when I bought the car doesn't work which only leaves me with 2 working keys (original purchased from dealer) and 1 of the 2 that I bought from eBay my question is how do I delete the 2 keys the one that's not working and the one that I didn't get when I purchased the vehicle? Any advice?

1999 BMW 328i Key will start the car but not remotely lock or unlock doors. I replaced the battery in the key and have tried multiple times the programming method in you video. The key flashes after programing but door locks do nothing. Any other ideas?

My locks work with old key. Car’s electrics cut on.... but won’t do anything when you turn to start the motor..... nothing. Could it still be the key... or would it be the ews module... or the ring antenna?

Nathan, I've tried all of these steps and still no work. Is it true that there is a rechargeable battery inside or am still missing something. the pin actuator is missing from the fuel door. Could that be the issue. Doors lock and unlock with the key in the door.

Hi I have tried all possibilities but everyone is talking about 3 button key(unlock key, BMW logo(lock key), trunk key). but my problem is when I bought my BMW 2000 318i, I got key with only two buttons lock and unlock but still I tried the reprogramming procedure few times still struggling with the key fob. I have already replace the battery as well. My key fob works sometimes but most of the times it doesn't work any help please.
