Great idea making pie filling! Our strawberries produced well this year (for the first time), so I may have to try this. The Clear Gel you used, can that be used for pie flings and jams? I see two types on Amazon... Sure jel is SO expensive ... Looking for an alternative. 😊

We love a good berry harvest, congrats! I’ve only used this in pie fillings, I’m thinking it would make some dense jelly, but the same company makes a fruit pectin powder (link below) recommended for jellies and jams. I’ve never tried it, but think I will this year to get away from the expensive surejell. Well I have only been canning for about a year and a half, and after I put my jars in the water bath did I read "clear jell" and not "sure jell" . No wonder it wasn't thickening on the stove😂🤦♀️

I’ve done the same and got some tasty strawberry jelly 😅
