What's For Tea?

Hey folks :)
Welcome back to what's for tea? If you're new...welcome to you also!
Tonight for tea we had these delicious chicken Kievs :) I haven’t made chicken Kiev for such a long time and really had a craving for them. This is such a simple recipe and well worth a go for yourself. I know these are available everywhere pre-made, but in my opinion home made is the way to go :) Much more satisfying, and fun too!
Thanks for watching!
____________________________________________________________________
I made 2 Large Kievs and used-
2 Large skinless/boneless chicken breasts
100g (half cup) Room temperature salted butter
3 Garlic cloves (one per person) minced or finely sliced
A handful of fresh parsley (finely chopped) or 3 tablespoons dried.
3 Medium eggs
300g (2 cups) Plain (all purpose) flour seasoned with salt & paprika
300g (2 cups) Panko breadcrumbs
1 Teaspoon smoked paprika & salt
Vegetable oil for shallow frying.

When I was a young man, I learned a sure-fire way to attract women was to cook for them. This was my first "gourmet" dish I did, and it was always a big hit. It also made me aware that very few people, male or female, bothered to cook meals made from scratch.

I made the chicken kiev tonight. It turned out really very good! I think when I make this again, I will start with better quality chicken, because the stuff I used had a lot of gristly bits, and I didn't get all of it trimmed away. HOWEVER, the meat aside from that was very tender, moist, and flavorful. Thank you so much!

If you were to see how I handle chicken (always with low-rent surgical gloves) and I am soooo squeamish! You'd laugh something fierce, for sure! 🤣 Even if my hubby could eat panko (it's the devil with his blood sugar numbers) I don't know that I could handle making it. Eating it? YES! Making it, not so much. ~sad chuckle~ And why am I not surprised that Carolina Reaper is your favorite? LOL! Hi to Jasper too!

Nothing wrong with using latex/nitrile gloves for food prep, it's quite common in commercial settings. Keeps everything nice and sanitary. It's definitely a *great* thing to do if you're chopping hot chili peppers, jalapenos, that kind of thing. You'll thank yourself later when you rub your eyes (or other sensitive body parts). 😁👍🏻

@@robokill387 - Nothing to do with the gloves. Just people that don't properly wash their hands because when you have gloves on they don't "feel" dirty. So you know, the same issue you'd have with or without gloves.

Here in the States, it's very difficult to find chicken breasts that are small enough to do an individual one for each person. They're often the same size you used (or bigger). Either way, looks delicious! BTW, check your facebook messages. You've got a package on the way! :)

I love kievs but the whole stuffing aspect always makes me think twice 'cause it's so fiddly,my knife skills aren't brilliant and there's a good chance i'll ruin the breast with one wrong move.Your 'garlic-butter spear' is inspirational! Don't know how i've missed this recipe as i've made so many of yours in the past and i'll definitely be making this one next
