Looking for a creative woodworking project that will sell? In one of my last videos about woodworking business, I discussed how to think outside of the box and change up something thats "hot". This video covers how I built and distressed the bread board or some may call a pizza peel. If you're looking for a unique project that will sell or just want to make one for yourself... this video is for you.

Hi Matthew, LOVE the videos!! I've completed the burning and sanding and am ready to treat the wood with bee's wax and mineral oil, however, what noticed that the black burned part (soot)of the board comes off in your hands? I wet it down, re-sanded it, wiped it like a million times, and still the black comes off on your hands when you handle the board. Will the oil and bees wax seal that in? or do i need to treat it to lock it in somehow? Thanks! Gary

Hey, great video!!! As a matter of fact you have tons of great content on your channel. I just tried the burning technique, but the end of my board seemed to start to split. I couldnt tell from your video, but has this happened to you as well?

This was just a scrap pc of poplar. Hard woods would probably be best.

Matt my name is Bob I think your videos are awesome. Your projects are well thought out. I have a question is I noticed your tool box the one that is chrome or stainless. Where did you buy it and name brand.
@MatthewPeechWoodworking

I cant remember the brand... but it was from sams club. Has a butcher block top on it. I couldnt build it for what I paid.

Man I wish I had a fraction of your creativity. I run a truss manufacturing facility and we have so much scrap lumber that just goes to waste. Been trying to figure out a way to use it at home for woodworking projects.... Unfortunately, it's mostly southern yellow pine. Any ideas? Keep up the great work!!

Heck yea. Dude you're sitting on a gold mine. free wood is the best. And don't underestimate southern yellow pine. I would say most custom made furniture is made from it. especially anything that is painted.

If you’re located anywhere near the Kansas City area, I’d be happy to take some of your scraps off your hands. Especially if your just throwing it away!!

How much would it sell for?? Why not use a butcher block oil??
@MatthewPeechWoodworking
@MatthewPeechWoodworking 2 жыл бұрын
You would have to look at the competition. But the Etsy competition for this look is low. You could use butcher block oil but is mostly made of mineral oil.
