I really want to make this. I want to use it as a bench for my eating nook/desk area. The storage would be great for my stationery supplies. This one seems like an easy project and I love how you only need 3 tools :)

very interesting. i'm going to build a simple open box for indoor storage. on castors. size 10"x 14"x14" to fit below my balcony seating. will look around for the tools 1st. like a simple manual saw, sander, bench vice etc. this video will be useful as reference. thx for the video. we usually use marine ply here in mumbai so will be using that instead of redwoods. and also will need to use thinner wood.. maybe 2 or 3mm since box is small in dimension. i might just paint the box with colours of indian cricket team :).

I've would of done it out of composite deck boards, for a lighter version and more weather resistant

Why do much gap in between? Understand allows to dry, but allows for water and dirt to come in.

The point is to help stuff dry. I built it to fit a plastic outdoor storage bin so I can seal it off in the winter when now using it.

Do you absolutely need a pocket hole jig? They seem really expensive for what they are? Can you not just drill on an angle? Am curious :)

yes, you can make your own jig if you want to. In my opinion, the basic $40 jig is totally worth it over trying to make your own jig.

Hello im New in your Chanel and subcribe need to make a box like this to stoge my cooking pots the reason is i dont have to much space were i live but i like to put diveder. So that everting is in oder and in place for it .i dont have the machine you have so i have to purchace the wood at homedepot and have them cuts .i one Day woud like to bye that machine went i have my own house. My Father was a carpenter and i use look at his proyects went he was making them .thanks so much i apreciate your a truly a máster carpenter.

Actually redwood hasn’t increased that much. Since you are spending the money, why not spend a little more for nicer wood

I agree. This box is not practical to build. Just buy one prebuilt and be done with it.

The down side of it the rain water will get inside it.

I built it large enough for plastic storage totes. So when we are not using it often in winter etc, we just the put the boxes in.

The only issue I see with this storage thing is that the water is going to get in through the top in the sides. I want something that is more waterproof than that.
