I love projects like this… all scrap, no molds, relatively easy but with HUGE impact. And in this case, I specifically made these to be sold together as pairs for sisters, mother/daughter, best friends, etc.
Glass used is various Bullseye glass, with base of French vanilla.

Great colors and use of your test panel for the commissions. Thank you again for the fire polish schedule and the tip on where to find your schedules … seems I missed that with my heart fire polish question from the last video. Ugh !! There is always a straggler in the class that needs a reminder, this time it was me. :-). BTW i have been using e6000 for over 7 years and never had any issues. I use the small tubes too.

I’ve used Goop glue for bails with great success over the past 5 years or so. Most hardware stores carry it. Thanks.

You can get E 6000 a few in a package at the dollar store. Or Joann fabrics, Michaels, Home Depot.

The pnly problem I have ever had with E6000 was when we moved to Hawaii. Our containers where on top,of the ship and I had a couple pop off the bails, easy fix.

As always, another really cool and creative idea, Jamison! I love them! I was wondering.... would you consider doing a video or two on how to figure out firing schedules according to the type of piece you are working with. I struggle with that and have never found any really instruction on how to calculate a schedule. I know kilns differ and will vary, but the basic understanding of temp and how fast to ramp and how long to hold and how many segments you might need and understanding a bubble squeeze as well as it might or might not need to be part of a schedule. There are so many variables (size, full/tack/polish), but how to lay out a schedule by looking at the piece you are planning to fire is always a challenge for me. I find myself always going to the automatically programmed schedules in my kiln and that is fine, but it limits me. Anyway, I hope you might share some knowledge and insights with us on firing schedules. It's my biggest stumbling block. And, thanks for all your tips and tremendous inspiration. I learn so much from you every day. Thank you! 🤩

Well, the thing is, I really don't see myself a teacher but instead I'm sharing as I learn. So I don't see myself offering that kind of video, especially when there are so many out there who DO teach making a living on this kind of deeper knowledge. Instead, I might recommend you spend a very small sum on this AMAZING e-book from Bob Leatherbarrow. Read it, then re-read it. It is such an amazing resource for a surprisingly little amount of money. Dana, I’m new to fusing also and completely understand you. There is a few videos from Bulleye glass that will explain the firing schedules. It’s the best ones out there that I have seen and trust me I have looked! 😂.

I am pretty okay with experimenting creatively, but lack the technical knowledge to know how to create schedules correctly for successful results. I understand your position Dana. I have asked those same questions. From what I have gathered it’s really trial an error since again all Kilns are different. If you have a stained glass supply shop close to you and they also do fused glass, you may go there and see if you can have a one on one with the teacher ( if they offer classes) and they might give you what you are looking for. Thanks for making another 'knock it out of the park' video. I adore them all and always learn something new. I was wondering if you could share the cane color from Wilderness glass (love her stuff, thanks to you!) Also am wondering how long of a bubble squeeze do you do for a piece that has a 3mm bottom, murine and vitragraph pieces capped with tekta. I recently did a cute flower design with those and some frit. Used the kiln programmed full fuse schedule but came up with some bubbles. They aren't a deal breaker but would like to understand the bubble squeeze part more. Thanks in advance from a native Texas living in CA.

Hi there! The cane was from a scrap sale she ran on Black Friday, and as scrap, it has various colors with no specifics. So I was just eyeballing what I used, and I’m not sure what came she has available now. For the fusing schedules, I always include those in my video notes. Keep in mind I full fused all the elements to the base glass FIRST, then added tekta cap in a second firing. This significantly reduced trapped air potential and bubbles. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the amazingly quick reply. again, I appreciate and look forward to all your videos. I , like you, like to refer to my self as a student that shares. I teach at my local college craft center and although I am labeled as the 'instructor', I always tell my 'students', I am just sharing what I have learned.

I make my dichroic cabs this way, make a tile and then cut it up, I did something like this one year, but one large and the other smaller, sold them as mother daughter pendants and they sold like crazy.

After the 24 hour wait for the glue to set l then put them into the oven at 250 for 20 minutes. I can’t remember where that tip came from…..

you made cutting the pendants down after fusing the clear top look easy! I find it very difficult because of the thickness - are. you using a special glass cutter?!

It did look easy, but there was no magic. Just a standard cutter and some good breaking pliers. I think it helped that I was cutting them in half and that they were thinner strips, only about an inch and a half wide. Plus a fair amount of luck?

Sounds easy breezy but cutting 6-7mm glass can be quite the challenge! I wanted more control over the outcome, and I don’t have a glass or tile saw.
