looks delish! suggestion: you only need one probiotic capsule. the microbes will multiply although it might take a few extra hours and then after you make one batch, save a few tablespoons to use instead of the capsules to make more batches (that's how we did it when we made dairy yogurt in the 70s and it works for all plant based milks.).
@CheapLazyVegan
@CheapLazyVegan 6 жыл бұрын
thank you so much!!! i'm going to do that now :D I thought about doing that (saving some of the yogurt to make more) but I never tried it.
@ginduf
@ginduf 6 жыл бұрын
it's the same as making kombucha or sour dough starter... the microbes are there in the finished product and all you need is a bit of the cultured product to continue the process. your starter (your first batch) will continue to propagate... as time goes by your batches will also pick up more local microbes from the air and that's not a bad thing... as in any naturally fermented things, if you get unwanted smell or mold you need to discard it and start fresh (although if you keep everything clean and refrigerate when the yogurt's ripe, it won't happen)

I am retired, but still make up Mason Jar salads/lunches for busy days. It's so good to just grab a tasty salad/meal-in-a-jar, when things are hectic! Just a note: if you're adding boiling water to a Mason Jar lunch, put a stainless steel spoon in the jar before adding the water! I have had way too many exploding jars....I love your recipes and videos!!

Wow really? Does that work?! I havo to look up the science behind that. Usually the not hot ingredients in the jar are enough to lower the temperature. Then again if you keep it in the fridge I can see why it would explode..
@Jaydit7
@Jaydit7 6 жыл бұрын
You can add the water, or broth, to the jar and chuck the whole thing in the microwave to heat up all at once...but, if the jar is cold, a stainless steel spoon will conduct/carry the heat, and not the glass...not sure of the Science and all, just a thing I've learned from experience.

I just love all your recipes because your channel is the literal definition of me: cheap, lazy, vegan. And I want to eat relatively healthy food but I can't be bothered with too much cooking so your recipes are always great! You've inspired me to try again with rice paper rolls; I thought they were harder than this to work with but I'll make some soon. I'm also going to check out this whole yoghurt thing! It's much easier than I thought and vegan yoghurt is so dang expensive to buy.

whats the differnce between iHerb and Amazon? amazon has even more variety
@CheapLazyVegan
@CheapLazyVegan 6 жыл бұрын
amazon might not have certain products available to iherb does and the prices may vary, especially depending on which country you're in. In the US, people probably have a wide variety of selection on amazon, but in other countries, it may not be the case. Amazon also obviously specializes in most products under the sun, whereas iherb specializes in natural/organic products, supplements, makeup, etc. They're both great sites, they're just different.

I'm guessing that if you wanna do the yoghurt again save like a tablespoon of the previous batch you did and just add that in the milk and leave it. That's how dairy based yoghurt works and bread and stuff so I'm guessing this would work too.

I just tried to make my own video (not food related or anything) and my lord I know I don't have proper equipment like you but it's time consuming. I can only imagine how time consuming this is! But I love your videos! 😍 I'm not vegan but I pretty much hate meat and just eat it because currently I'm not working so I have to eat what everyone around me eats 😓😓😓😓 but I have a lot of health issues and when I eat meat it seems it gets worse. Im pretty sure I know what's wrong too so I'm gonna have to go gluten free and then some once I get my first check. I send your recipes to my mom too and she loves them 😍💖

I used to love watching your channel and I even purchased your cookbook. I can understand that you use affiliate links to make money, I respect that, but it seems like you and all of the vegan KZfaqrs have become infomercials for iHerb and Thrive Market. I don’t mind that you mention your affiliate links in the very beginnings of your videos. But the constant advertising throughout the whole video is just too much. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way. I have just unsubscribed to your channel and all others who do this for that reason. I’ll probably still watch your videos here and there, you’ve got some great vegan ideas but seriously, give up the informercial bullshit.

I forgot to mention also, besides many viewers not being in the US these links are useless. I live in Hawaii and Thrive Market and iHerb don’t service these areas or out of the country. Since you used to live out of the country you should realize how redundant this information is for anyone not on the mainland besides being annoying as fuck.
