Are you looking for an easy Japanese dish for lunch or dinner- this dish will surely satisfy your love with potatoes- Pork and potatoes simmered in Japanese soy sauce.
Nikujaga ingredients:
In this video- I used 8 medium size potatoes but you can use 600-800 grams of potatoes.
300 grams of sliced pork
2 medium size carrots
1 large onion ( cut into 8)
2 packs of shirataki( *optional)
* 3-4 tablespoons of brown sugar
50 ml of sake ( if you have mirin- use 50 ml of mirin then use only 2 tbsp of sugar)
50 ml of Japanese soy sauce (you can add 2 more tablespoons)
1 pack of dashi powder
1 cup of water
*When sautéing the meat and veggies use a little bit higher than the medium heat.
*simmer the mixtures in low heat for about 15 to 20 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked.
