Ty for sharing this method. Why not just open the carton and pouring the probiotic inside, put the cap back on and shake. Less possibility for contamination and less cleanup. That’s how I’ve been doing it.

Nice!! Thank you!! But I found that we do not need to warm the milk at all. Just pour the milk into 16 oz mason jar, put 2 capsules, screw lid, shake shake it, put it in instant pot on yogurt mode for 10 hours. Yogurt ready!! Works with Edensoy, Trader Joe's and Westsoy.

I have made this for years now with my instant pot 💕 but I have always used a vegan powder as a starter. I just bought the asodophilus pills from the recipe and look forward to making my yogurt with it. I use my yogurt for all sorts of things and one of my favorite is as a topping for my black beans. When it is tart enough it tastes better than any sour cream I've eaten in my life. Thank for sharing this video & recipe. I always enjoy learning from you.

Great video Jill :) I have been making yogurt in my instant pot for about 2 months now. And I am not sure why but my yogurt would not get thick. So, I have to warm mine on the stove top and add calcium water and pectin (both vegan of course). The only explanation I can come up with is we live 6,000 feet above sea level--since we've moved here I've also noticed: the lack of humidity, my car doesn't have as much power and same for my husband's bike, the first few months I thought my food was tasteless/flavorless, it took longer to boil water (which I already had heard about). Do you think there is any other explanation as to why my yogurt was runny (which it did taste like yogurt)? I like eating yogurt, I just wish I could do it as simply as you demonstrated and save myself some time, thanks :)

Mud Sock Girl Your elevation might have something to do with it. Or the strength of the starter( yogurt or acidophilus) or the milk you are using. A lot of people have said that if it has anything other than just soybeans and water that it messes with the chemical process.

Your video said you used 20 billion CFU, so that is what I purchased (same brand). I used Trader Joe’s soy milk and set in to yogurt (10 hours) on my instant pot. Even after refrigerating and then straining it, it never set. Your link to the probiotic advertises 30 billion CFU. Is that where the recipe failed?

FYI. Great luscious raspberries from nice Farms at Sam's Warehouse Club Supermarket. Most splendid raspberries, and black Giant seedless grapes from Chile if you're interested. They are firm & divine ! 🤠

I have only used unsweetened soy milk for this recipe because it only has soybeans and water in it. Not sure if the other milks will work because they have additives, stabilizers and a lot of time oil in them. I didn’t use a rack . I purchased my acidophilus tablets from Whole Foods

In theory, that is the way it works. All you need is the 1/4 cup of the original and soymilk. I usually just make a fresh batch because I don't want to risk it not turning out.

for soy milk there are only 2 that I have found that only have soy beans and water. 1) the Edensoy that Jill used and the Soy Beverage (which is soy milk) from Trader Joe's. TJ's is better priced and is my first choice.

I have better luck with the Westsoy than the Trader Joe’s. Also, Westsoy is sold in quarts and 1/2 gallons. This works great if you’re making Greek style yogurt. 2 quarts of yogurt makes just over 1 quart of thick Greek style yogurt. Ask them at customer service where they keep. It’s almost always on the bottom shelf in some rather obscured area. They also sell Silk and some other nondairy milks there. You are looking for the aseptic container

@@joannlakes westsoy is my favorite. I use that blended with some cashews because it enhances the flavor for me. I also use the vegan starter from cultures for health. I save the whey to use as a starter for the next batch so it takes me forever to go through the box. It has been pretty fail proof for me . I make it every single week and have only messed up a few batches because I had other things fermenting at the time.
