In my 37 years I’ve never tried chick peas till today. Thank you for the chick pea salad recipe it was so delicious. I added yellow sweet peppers to mine cause I didn’t have celery but it tasted so good, this is being added to my recipe box, thank you. 😀

I meal prep my kids’ lunches on Sundays and it’s a total of 15 bento boxes (3 kids x 5 days a week 🤯🤯🤯) in my garage fridge (it’s usually a beverage fridge but has plenty of room to store all those bento boxes!) and it’s easy for both me and the kids to burn out when it comes to what to make and also what will withstand being held in the fridge for days. Your ideas have been THE MOST HELPFUL THUS FAR!!! Trust me, I have googled for hours upon hours and a lot is made to be done the night before or the morning of and I don’t have the time or the mental energy for all of that! Totally using your ideas…I sooooo needed this on a Monday morning- THANK YOU!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much! I love how laid back my Dad was about food with us. He always told us to keep trying things because our tastebuds would change. There was never any pressure. As a result, I love pretty much all veggies and fruits now!

My Dad told me that food should be tried at least once before deciding if we like it or not. He made me try a cooked snail when I was a child. My mom boiled them in a good marinara sauce. Yuk! I did it and then got a sip of wine and that was the end of it.

I understand that picky eating. I introduced my kiddos to veg in small amounts as well. And it's cool to see them transition over. It is still a battle as we are healthy eaters but some of their friends aren't and processed is what my kiddos enjoy. They enjoy my homemade things, but they really still enjoy the junk. Thankfully they don't eat too much of it. Your dates remind me of my little one. He simply cannot do dates. He will pick them out of his homemade granola. But I find that if I turn it into a date paste and sneak it into things he enjoys it.... Until he finds out there is date paste in it 😳

so my kids definitely dont eat a 50/50 plate because they need way more calories....so they have a serving of nonstachy veggies and greens in their smoothies but they dont fill half their plate with nonstarchy veggies:) You are doing great mamma, if your kiddo will eat brown rices and carrots and bell pepper! I will keep showing my kids eating their veggies in my homestead and lifestyle vlogs for sure:)

@PlantifulKiki2 жыл бұрын
ha good question, I realized when they were young like preschool through 1st grade when they weren't throwing anything away but just packing back in their bags...I could see everything they picked at, ignored, and gobbled up. I also packed lunches like this for picnics and car trips and would see what they would pick at:)

I can't tell you how much I appreciate this video, not because I have young children, but for myself. My medical providers haven't understood my desire to follow the Starch Solution, which is fine, I don't care. But in May I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, and their only answer for this was "go gluten free". I did, and it helped to a point, but unfortunately having CD is so much more than eliminating gluten from your diet. Even the dietitian they had me see has not been helpful. I am struggling to make the Starch Solution and my Celiac work, not because it's a difficult program, but because I can't eat a large volume of food so I have to pack a lot of nutrients into what I do eat, so I've felt very overwhelmed doing all of this on my own. You simplify things and make me feel so much better, and I appreciate you very much for that. Thank you! I'm curious if all of your cookbooks are set up like this? I would be interested in buying them all if so. Thank you again!

What is your opinion about frozen plant based meatless and chicken less options for kids? Nuggets, etc?
@PlantifulKiki2 жыл бұрын
so I stay away from those because they are still a very processed food and it keeps my kids wanting to munch on those and then they don't eat as many veggies....However they are great for when you have company or the kids have a sleep over, or even if you are on vacation and have a little kitchen and want to keep things simple....I would use them more as an occasional thing or if you are trying to transition your kiddos from a standard American diet to a plant based one, keeping in mind the goal of getting to a place where they eat mostly wholesome whole plant based foods:)

Such a great video, thank you!! So... what would you recommend if your husband was still giving the kids junk? I feel like this ruins their palette for healthy food!! :(
@PlantifulKiki2 жыл бұрын
that's a tough one, maybe a conversation with your husband about the importance of establishing healthy eating habits for them and a compromise of once a week where he can give them something....also discussing the importance of eating well with your children. My children are at the age now where they really understand the importance of eating well and they turn down lots of junk that's offered to them at parties and when out with family members:) hang in there mamma.
