Easy soap for beginner soap makers- 100% coconut oil soap with 30% superfat!

I bring to you this simple soap-making tutorial. This soap uses only 4 ingredients -
1. Sodium hydroxide/lye
2. Distilled water
3. Coconut oil
4. Fragrance oil - optional

Distilled water - amzn.to/3XNYMJN (You can also get this easily from local pharmacy or grocery store)
This recipe reaches trace very quickly. I use individual silicone molds so it is easy to unmold.
Coconut oil soaps are hard to cut if poured in loaf molds. I used 30% superfat, so it took a week to harden properly.
But If you use 20% or less superfat, it can reach trace even faster & will be ready to unmold very soon.

Thank you! I really like how you explained why you used that kind of mold instead of loaf type ~ I just broke my multi-wired soap cutter (🤣 few wires at once ~ I should not have waited too long). If you don't mind ~ where did you get that mold, I like that designs?

Easy and simple. Thank you! I would like simple recipes, like a few oils. Maybe with some dry fruits on them and oatmeal, coffee. Simple ingredients and reachable. All receipes I see they use a lot of different oils and fragrances and becomes to difficult and expensive to make.

Yes I love simple recipes too. Do you use any soap calculator to create recipes? You can create something with just 2-3 oils/butters. If not let me know I can create a tutorial for it.

I just watched your video and found it very helpful! Also, can i compliment you on not talking over the video. EVERYONE else does and it is annoying when you are trying to genuinely learn how to do a process and the person is clamoring on as if they are a commentator for the Olympics! Quick question, what does the coconut milk do? I noticed you added just a bit. Thank you again for your very professionally done video that was very informative!

Thanks for your detailed comment! Point about not talking - NOTED! It was easier to edit also. I will definitely make more silent videos. Coconut milk is believed to add moisturizing quality, but there is no evidence. I added 2 oz in 2 lb of oils. Thanks!

Everyone has different skin types. You will have to try for yourself to know. I have no problem using this soap on my face and I love that this soap makes a lot of bubbles. I personally like this soap in Summer season!

It depends on your skin type. Coconut oil soap has high cleansing & a lot of bubbles.

Distilled water is preferred but you can use RO water also.

Yes, it would need 6-8 weeks of curing. Place it in a cool and dry place with good air flow. Thank you!

Hello, This soap is for the shower or for washing clothes? I have heard that coconut oil soap is suitable for washing machines.

This one is for shower. Many people make 100% CO soap but with 0% superfat. That's the one used for washing clothes! Thanks for your question 🙂

Hi! Here is the 100% CO soap with 30% superfat recipe in grams- Coconut oil- 453.59 grams Water- 170 grams Lye (Sodium hydroxide)- 58.18 I hope it helps! Let me know how the soap comes out.

The outcome is good but it dry the skin. So what should I do??

How long did you cure it? You have to let it sit for 6 weeks atleast.
