All in one wire cafe Light hanging kit: amzn.to/30KcZKR or amzn.to/2yDmG46
String Lights I recommend: amzn.to/3gK9D2X
Wifi outdoor plug amzn.to/37ngxrG
Favorite Drill!
amzn.to/36Rc7HU
Hammer drill bits for block/concrete: amzn.to/3cNFMU9
From start to finish this job took under two hours. The kit really saved me from sourcing all the hardware which can easily take a couple of hours. This kit should have everything you need EXCEPT if you are connecting to block/brick. If you are attaching to block watch this video: • How to Hang Cafe or St... . I would still purchase the all-in-one kit along with about $5.00 of extra hardware. Please reach out in the comments with any questions.
I have done a number of installs for friends & families and this by far was the easiest. I have to thank my viewers who have purchased over 300 of these kits. I FINALLY purchased one...no brainer.

Thank you for the great info! Having the light kit made it faster and easier, though we discovered that you need to go with the larger kit in order to get the easy wire fasteners.

3:20 Whenever possible, avoid having high voltage wire rubbing against sharp metal corners like that. Better to place the eye bolt underneath the eave as well, so that all tension is directly radially outward from that point. No bends that would chaff the electric cord's outer jacket during high winds.

Super helpful, thanks! QUESTION: Bought this recommended kit and hung my guide wires from a tall wood post I had installed for this purpose, stretching to house. I received nice quality string lights as a gift (Amica LED outdoor string lights), though, and they don't have a hook. There is a small hole above each light that, annoyingly, is aimed perpendicular to the electric cord. So you can't even string the guide wire cleanly through the holes. Any suggestions? Ideally I would use some sort of ring through that hole that I could then thread the guide wire through. I could use the twist ties in the hanging kit but that seems a little messy and fussy, to connect each light to the guide wire with the wist ties (and not sure how that will hold up), so I'm wondering what you would do in this situation. Thank you!

You will have to ask “alexa”!lol got it through amazon. There are numerous kits out there...if you have a service equivalent to amazon i’m sure they would have it.

Question I don’t have a fence or block wall to attach to I was thinking of using either a planter medium to large with concrete in it for weight and a galvanized fence top rail post or conduit or just put it in the ground have you done like this and would I still pull the cable taunt I will be getting the cable kit you showed
@how2q
@how2q 3 жыл бұрын
I like the idea of planter and cement. Another option is 4x4 post in ground with sakrete concrete. The answer to how tight to pull wire would depend on your setup. I would tighten up to the point where post in planter stays upright. Let me know what you end up doing!

@@how2q ended up going with the post(top rail of a chain link fence going in a W shape. Can I put the cable ends on 1 clip for the middle of the W and the post will go on the shorter legs of the W 3 mounts on the house and 2 mounts on the pipe

They so not come w self tapping screws which us probably what you would want to use. Bang for your buck all in one kit will still save you money even w the purchase of the screws

How did you attach the string lights to the wire? Does the kit include enough clips to attach to the wire or do I need to get some sort clips separately?

The lights i believe i have linked in description have clips on them so no extra clips required

Must have as in you wouldn’t recommend hanging string lights without using a hanging kit/wire?
@how2q
@how2q 2 жыл бұрын
Wire allows for a straighter run…sometime people do like the sag of a line. I Just wouldn’t recommend pulling your lights too tight.

Actually that was my very first cafe light install. Just add springs (since tree can move). Here’s that video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n6eHndWYuqinZ6s.html

I purchased this cable and it stretched way too much. Granted, I am running lights roughly 75 ft from anchor to anchor. What thickness of cable do you recommend for 75 ft that will not stretch?
@how2q
@how2q Жыл бұрын
Wow…yeah thats a long run. The main reason I recommend the 1/16” wire (coating makes it 3/32”) is for 95% of the people it is easy to cut and their runs aren’t as long as yours. That being said i would go with 3/16 or 1/4”. The tough part when you run something like that is getting it tight and having the shears to cut that length of line.

Can this product be used on a metal pole
@how2q
@how2q 2 жыл бұрын
Thats a “it depends”…you would have to come up w a way to attached it. Either drill hole into pole or you could loop around. You would have to have some way of making sure the loop stays “up”

They make clamps meant to encircle just about every standard metal fence post, and also inexpensive caps (some with loops on top).
