Those toogle bolts also say do not use for mounting tvs....so who do I believe? I've used them to mount small tvs but I need to mount an 80" tv and now I'm worried the flip toogles won't work...

i approve this message in 2024!! Searched for hours and couldn't find anything online about this. GE has a very specific drain hose so i had to order a replacement on their website and wait. Then i thought to myself...is there a cap for the garbage disposal ?? Long and behold this little piece of plastic did not exist. Found this video and read the comment, WINE STOPPER for the win !! Thank you for doing the DIY Gods work

The hinge was loose from the plate screwed to the wall. I had to remove the door to tighten. There appears to be adjustment screws on the wall side of the hinge but they are too tight. Anyway, thanks for the video!❤

Another youtuber demonstrated an acrylic rod can be used as a permanent shim so the door will always be in contact with the hinge. He linked 100 rods for 16 dollars off amazon.

Hi Quinn, I'm a fellow Phoenician. 🌵 I'm learning to DIY so this may be a dumb question. If there's an outlet in your TV wall then how could it only be furring strips between the drywall and block? Wouldn't it need to be framed out to provide depth for outlets? Thank you
@how2q15 күн бұрын
There are a couple options that wouldn’t require it to be framed out. There are shallow gang boxes (not all are created equal). A lot of times w block, installer will cut into block to allow for depth of outlet box (aka single gang box)

Most houses have studs every 16" o.c. Why isn't there another stud 16" (and 32") from the one you found and screwed into?
@how2qАй бұрын
A lot of older homes (80’s and earlier) are 24” o.c. That was the case w this house

Where does the end of the line go to? I have the same problem, but I can’t find out where it leads to. The end that would be towards the firewall of the truck.
@PeterSchneemannАй бұрын
would it hold a 100 inch / 100 pound tv?
@PeterSchneemannАй бұрын
Or would it be better to put two pieces of plywood between the nearest two studs and then fasten the tv mount to the plywood?
@how2qАй бұрын
It sounds like a very expensive TV. Quick answer would be technically yes. I only say technically because the sheer weight… Vertical weight…it would hold w only a mount that was against the wall (would not use one that you pull out and move left and right). To be 100% sure on the install… I would go with the plywood option.

My issue wasn't the exact same but this helped me to understand where the vacuum reservoir was. I then followed my line towards all the other terminals and found one of the plastic lines split inside of the wheel well. Fixed it in 10 minutes with spare vacuum hose I purchased to fix the other line when it broke.

Can you cut the extra length of string lights that you don’t need?
@how2qАй бұрын
Sure just make sure you “cover” exposed end. There are water proof wire nuts used in landscaping that would work well. The ones I’m thinking of are blue… Not sure if they come in different colors. You can always spray paint them black. that’s if you were to cut the wire. They’re probably is a way to have the wire. Enter last light and not come out. Just make sure there is not any exposed wire to the elements.

There's quite a few terminals for the lines so its not an easy thing to answer. Some go all the way inside your vehicle behind the glove compartment to plug into the plunger that opens the inside vents. You need to find the other half of the cut line and patch it together. It will be located within reach of the cut line so look in the immediate areas for another dangling plastic line.
@MarP-lt5dt2 ай бұрын
What else can you use if you dint want to put holes in tiles?
@how2q2 ай бұрын
You could try a construction adhesive like loctite premium adhesive. With an island, the size of the one I installed… It was so heavy it would be tough to move anyway. Drilling into the floor will guarantee it doesn’t move. Adhesive will help it not move but no guarantees
@lynnfendlason42772 ай бұрын
Wouldn’t it be cheaper/easier to just pry off the entire plywood/tile countertop and replace the wood/resurface?
@how2q2 ай бұрын
Ha might be a rhetorical question… that option is still going to be a mess. The weight of the countertop would have to be dealt with. If you had a way to cut it in pieces and remove it that would work. Still a mess

Can you tell me if these flip toggles will work on shiplap too? There is shiplap above my fireplace.
@how2q2 ай бұрын
Really depends…if your shiplap is over drywall/wood studs then yes. Some people have put shiplap over an “older” brick fireplace…in that case no. What I recommend is when you initially drill… Use a smaller drillbit and see if, after you drill through the shiplap, you hit drywall/stud or drywall w nothing behind it. it’s very tough to use a stud finder over shiplap. Hope that helps.

So i have the manual for my remote control and it has the same instructions as yours but the only way it worked (after trying a billion times) is to unplug the power to the garage opener and plug it back in. This resets the circuit, and it immediately worked. I had this written on a piece of paper 10 years ago.
