I change my settings in my Serato to double time or half time to beat match because not all the time do you have beats exactly 120/60. Example: 138/72 or 138/68 and vise versa (138/68 = 138/136). This is what I do so I hope this makes it easier for someone. Let me know what you think.

Certainly with some bass music, dubstep etc it's an open debate whether those songs are at say 75 or 150 anyway...

@@digitaldjtips would you say the determining factor in that debate is the highs. Seems logical.

Firstly, I really don't think it matters, but secondly, for me it's often the prominence of the beats on the "2" and "4" beats of the bar/measure.

Intetesting. :) I had experiment with the same trick but never really liked the way it sounded.. . In some cases could work well but not easy to find the two matching track. Nice informative video as usual guys. :)

Try dropping a breakdown over a beat

Good video... It's a cool technique... but I think you are leaving out a key pointer that is needed to make the transition sound good... you need to choose your mix out point very carefully specially when you go from fast to slow... otherwise the whole energy and momentum just drops. I find an echo out or a reverse spin much less disruptive to the audience...

Word! This is HOT! This is what I've been looking for. Question I have a Old song (Acapella) that's 80 BPM and I have an Classic R&B Instrumental song that's 112 BPM. Can I do that?
@digitaldjtips
@digitaldjtips 4 жыл бұрын
Not really, they're not double/half and not close enough to beat match so they're in that awkward middle distance
