Feelin' Groovy - a signature song by Simon and Garfunkel from the 1960s. This tutorial features a slow play along at the end. Additionally, we will go over smooth chord transitions, mental ninja practice tips, a basic strum, strumming pattern, and a spicy version for strumming. There is a history section as well.

I love the Songs you choose. I love it, how you explain it, I love the slow speed you start with. With this tutorial I could play along just at the second time listing to it and now I do is dayly. Just had an Pufnstuf flashback! I loved that show, the characters, the music, dancing and talking flute! This brought back memories of my childhood for sure. I wanted to sing and dance on the show. Great lesson for this song and strumming patterns. I learn so much. Thanks😃

That was fun! I love the groovey strum pattern. I remember all those Sid and Marty Kroft shows. They were surrealistic and kind of creepy.

Love me some Simon and Garfunkle! I used to have a guitar book of their songs, and I’ve been so mad at myself for losing it ever since I started ukulele. I could use it now, but I never really got far enough with guitar to get much good out of it.

There are a bunch of chord charts out there on the internet. Check out Morristown Uke Jam. There have several Simon and Garfunkle chord charts in their collection. I have to interview that crew.

I had a lot of fun with this and it put me in a good mood: "Life I love you, all is groovy." Having a bit of a hard time jumping quickly to G and getting a good sound. I know it takes practice but I'm off to a good start thanks to this video!

Very good tutorial, Lisa! Talk about strumming ... We just posted Hello "Muddah, Hello Fahduh" ,which is a fun song to perform , yet my part on the ukulele is all upstrokes at Allegro! The music is from a 1800's ballet "Dance of the hours". My fast tempo upstrokes are simulating the violin section.

This is a new song for me, thank you for introducing me to new music. I’m excited to experiment with it. I know I move my fingers way too far away from the fretboard. I am totally the queen of the “flying finger show” 😂 I do it on the flute, too. I’m always sticking my finger out if I’m not careful

Me too! I did it on the flute and the piano. I even got a reminder on staying closer to the fretboard while I was working on a difficult chord transition.

I remember HR Puff n Stuff. I’m a little older than you. I saw it in the 1970’s. People said it was about drug usage....I guess like Peter Paul and Mary’s song “Puff The Magic Dragon”.

I was had just finished college in 1967. No really didn’t know that kids song. Learning it now. I understand using the G on the & of the 2nd beat of the measure Am7. Is it used any where else. If it is a G chord would the spice be the C or Am7 chord, the following chord? I didn’t understand your pick up explanation at all. It seemed to all go together. Thank you for the new strum suggestion.

It isn't the chords that add the spice its the rhythmic placement. and it is a little too involved to explain in text. Are you one of my patrons?
