They dont use LIN1, LIN2, COM, BSS1, BSS2 In the US they use DF, DFC which is nothing more than a PWM control LIN1, LIN2, COM, BSS1, BSS2 is computer controlled theirs no way to fire up the alternator without special interfaces even stripping the alternator down wont work because the field voltages are different. Normally between 4v and 6v and 2 - 4 amps

Have a 98 Ford Mustang and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why my alternator wasn't charging. I tried every everyone was saying I took my instrument cluster out unplugged it and noticed a couple of the copper conductors were touching I simply straighted them out plugged it back in and bam my alternator started charging so if you can't figure it out check out this repair it saved me about $175 and I'm not even a mechanic but I'm not stupid either. This little trick could help someone out I hope

You need to supply 12volts to the alternator you will see the impact drill struggles to turn it to cut emf
@boblewis55585 жыл бұрын
Err not true, it will depend on load. As he had none, his biggest regret might have been blowing his diode pack with amount of open circuit volts he'd get out of the alternator, even at low revs. As several people stated, full load output would not be maintained until the alternator was spinning at 3000 plus which would normally be around 700-1200 rpm engine speed due to pulley gearing. Compare an alternator pulley diameter to an old DC car generator to see the difference required between the two. DC generator has around two or more times the diameter pulley so produces charge at half the revs of an alternator but total power is typically MUCH more limited.
