Eating Ramen in Japan is always delicious and in Tokyo, you'll find a chef that wants to give his customers a new kind of bowl. Koizumi Takao is a ramen chef the looks for beauty in his creation. Nature inspired him to make his famous Blue Ramen which is like the ocean or the sky.
The question -- Is this ramen any good?
▶︎ WHERE is this Ramen Shop?
Ramen Kippōshi, Shibuya, Tokyo
Map: goo.gl/maps/NVMvpvRfqu3hrNoU6
URL: www.kipposhi.tokyo/
The Blue Ramen is a Shio (Salty) Chicken based broth with chicken chashu steak, negi (welsh onions), garlic, hanjuku tamago (soft boiled egg) and chicken oil.
What's the blue color? It's a chef secret but he says it's all natural.
If you're in Shibuya, definitely stop in for a try. It'll make you feel something new for these noodles - like being in Hawaii or Ogasawara in the Pacific!

"I don't think about how people might react to my ramen. That doesn't really matter to me. I just create what i find beautiful." As an artist, what he said really touched me. What a seemingly obvious but inspiring way to think. Much harder to act on and stay true to that it would seem i think.
@amskazetoame

OldeVikingOriginal that comment of his resonated with me as well. He is a ramen artist but more so a decent wonderful human for wanting to bring joy and beauty to others even with something as simple as a bowl of ramen.

Ehh... I think the way to really find artistic enlightenment, is to find a balance between accessibility and personal expression. You can still make it by picking only one or the other, but I think the true mark of a master artist is to accomplish both at once. If you are only creating for your own enjoyment, then you are the only audience to please. If you create strictly for others to enjoy, then you will likely not be pleased, at least eventually. If you create something that both you and your audience can enjoy equally, then you make everyone happy.

See the blue Pacific waters of Ogasawara here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nbh8gdaB3LeoY2w.html ★ Smurf Stew is real?! Perhaps Gargamel was successful after all ... alas, it's just chicken (or is it?) Tokyo's Blue Ramen is not just blue, it's really good ramen created by an artist and you should try it if you're in Shibuya. The rumor is that the blue comes from blue spirulina algae which is all natural (not good coloring). Like if you agree that ramen is AWESOME and leave me a comment below on your favorite bowl or experience in Japan. The best one gets pinned to the top! It’s supposed to be compliment to the chef (so good you forget your manners and slurp)... but when you go over the top and purposely make the noise it’s just cheesy like this example above.
@carollynch8319
@carollynch8319 4 жыл бұрын
Brandon Speelman it’s not done as a compliment to the chef. Noodles are slurped because the soup is served pipping hot. You don’t wait for the soup to cool because the noodles will become soggy. The slurping brings air into your mouth helps cool the noodles.

ITS FREE REAL ESTATE 1. Put a pot of water on the stove and add a miku 2. Make sure she’s alive and can’t escape as that will ensure that as the water comes to a boil every ounce of life will be squeezed out of her 3. Once it has boiled for 5 minutes strain your miku broth. By now the miku meat should have melted off the miku bones. 4. Add noodles to the miku broth, top with ingredients of your choice. Spirulina is a form of cyanobacterium, some of which are known to produce toxins such as microcystins, BMAA, and others. Some spirulina supplements have been found to be contaminated with microcystins, albeit at levels below the limit set by the Oregon Health Department.[3] Microcystins can cause gastrointestinal disturbances, and in the long term, liver damage.[1] The effects of chronic exposure to even very low levels of microcystins are of concern, because of the potential risk of toxicity to several organ systems[1] and possibly cancer.[3 Yummy!!! John, I have to be honest, you're one of the few KZfaqrs I've still stuck with since the beginning and it's because of episodes like this. Not because it's about food, but because you show such unique stuff. I used to watch other channels that showed Japan or travel, but I got bored after a while. They all showed the same things, the robot cafe, maid cafes, shopping hauls at popular anime/ game places, Shibuya crossing, adult themed stores, the toilets, etc. And while this isn't bad and can be interesting for newcomers, it becomes repetitive after a while. You take the time to find these unique places and people and share them with the rest of us. There's a lot more to Japan than what people think it is and I thank you for that. It forces us to be more vigilant about cultural differences and other countries in general. While some paint the same image of Japan, you show us all of the little details in between. I know it's a lot of work, but it keeps us all staying and supportive of you. Keep up the great work!

Back in the 1960's, we had 濱田 庄司 as a house guest in San Jose, CA. He was considered as a "Living National Treasure" and I have always enjoyed the idea of people as something to be treasured, and to be proud of as a nation. I would really enjoy a series on some of these "Living National Treasures" if possible.

@@thefunkyphantom69 Yes it was. He was giving demonstrations at San Jose State College and spent some time at our house. A quiet man...with grace and dignity. His skill, throwing "off the hump" was truly amazing.

to truly enjoy Japan, I think 3 weeks would be ideal. I was there for 2 weeks last year, felt a little rushed, i got to enjoy alot, but felt i missed out on a few things I could of enjoyed had I stayed just a bit longer.

I think it works really well in summer since less people are willing to have hot bowl of ramen and get sweaty. The blue soup definitely reminds me of the ocean and coolness, and it really feels like a color that belongs to summer.
