I am using kh guardian from taiwan. Is a great product also. And it is including dosing in the same machine and also able to control calcium reactor. But i use the kh guardian for minor tweak for my kh. I dose my waste water back to the sump.

For me , I look at this and think yes nice, but then think , calibration , cost etc. 15 years using my salifert kh test every 3-5 days , takes about 3 mins. I feel this would rock for people that travel or out of town or busy.

Been looking into getting this but still unsure as it is so much $$$. You just need the kh director and (1) 4 head doser?

For the additional extra pump did you get a master unit or a slave unit? How do you hook everything up?

Do you have any update additional update? I know you were given the unit by GHL but have you identified any disadvantage/problems?

If you couple tropic marin all for reef, you can dose alk,cal,mag + trace off that single open dose head.

Great video! Don't know if you have used both Apex and GHL. With the experience that you have which one do you recommend?

Apex is a monitoring system, but you need to buy everything separate to simulate what this set does. On the other hand, this set is just a dkh monitoring tool plus maybe dosing if decide to use the "free" pump. Apex and GHL are completely different products.

Do you heat the calibration fluid in the tank water to get it to 25c temp as it says 25c on the bottle at its calibration temp? Didnt on mine but would make sense to do it next time ? Unless your room remains 25c. Mine was more like 15c as I was in the garage when i calibrated the probe

When i calibrated the ph on the profilux 4 i did bring the fluid to 25c which i read on the forums to do for best results... i would think the director ph probe would require the same process

What’s the difference between a KH Director and a KHD Director?

they are the same thing. KHD is short fo KH Director.

How much water is needed for 1 test?

Manufacturer specifies 100ml per test, but can be reduced I guess down to 60ml or 80ml but you'll loose accuracy.

I had some issues with khd. And it's not that reliable.

Very nice machine to show off to your friends for bragging rights .But really not necessary at all to have a reef thriving.

Ya I don’t think anyone will say it’s necessary. Nine of like an auto top off, if you wanted you can add water every few days but it’s easier and convenient to have it automated. Again this is not for everyone.

Absolutely. My jbj 45 had close to $20,000 worth of coral in it. I would have loved to have this on that bad boy at that time.

Za Fish Guy yep, i know, but not $20k worth of corals. A lot of it was fairly common stuff that he made look awesome through tlc. But now he’s just schilling crap advice and products for sponsors like Mode.

@EAT SLEEP Reef Optimal ALK is 7.2 . You can keep it 8.5 at the max , 9.7 is really really not good for corals.

Totally angry with KHD and GHL Support. Within 8 months, they tell me to send it in for repair for the THIRD time. I decommissioned that garbage! Don’t buy it!
