Kubota took over the market and honestly the military MEP1040 is better and way cheaper at surplus.

Build a cover. Not fully enclosed, at least 20- 30 ft away. Even with every door, window etc sealed, no house is 100 percent air tight. MOVE thst thing away

The only thing i hate about small diesel generators is the noise..those tiny engines at 3600rpm scream a lot.. 1500rpm models make a big difference. 3cyl ones are real quiet. I have a 6kw cummins 7.5kva & it runs at 1500rpm , very quiet and reliable generator. During short outages like for 1hr or so. I have a honda eu30i. The eco throttle makes it very quiet but at full load it is louder than the cummins c7.5

It's not too bad but I do have an 1800 RPM mep803a military generator that is much quieter as well.

How many hours on it? I just found one local and they stored it now won’t start but I’m sure it’s simple...this made me want to restore it.....you did an amazing job! Did you re paint it? New decals etc? If so, are they available? I can get this one probably for $800

Had 16 hours on it but I did pay $3,000 so you did good at $800 all parts are still available at boats.net

I have the same generator, wondering if you had to replace your circuit breaker on the machine.? Mind had broken and needs replacement or rebuilt but not having any luck locating a replacement. Any suggestions.?

Circuit breakers okay but for some reason mine shut down on the last storm I think it is the fuel shut off solenoid. I bought a cheap harbor freight 8750 as a backup and it is pretty decent
