Got it after 2nd attempt. I had to thoroughly clean/decontaminate the diffuser.... applied 3M adhesive promoter and VHB tape.

I bought one on EBAY lines up fairly well and used 3M automotive and self-tapping but couldn't get it to hold. It kept falling off the tape :-/ I thought 3M was very strong. Now I am contemplating whether to have the body shop use an adhesive sealant or just buy a Stillen.

You gotta screw it on, so the diffuser won’t come off. The exhaust heat will cause the 3m tape to unstick and eventually fall out

@@yohan.al2000 thanks chief.. You are correct. I purchased that VHB by 3M plus the 3m adhesive promoter wipes and that did the trick. I have no concerns about the adhesive failing at this point it’s been 6 months.

@@user-io4sr7vg1v some parts are inferior this is true, but this unit is fine. In this situation it came down to the prep. I didn’t respect that part upfront. Needless to say got back to it cleaned the surface area and applied 3M adhesive promoter and real VHB tape. Holds great for a year now.

amazing car! i was watching your old videos and was wondering if i all i wanted to do was get a muffler delete would the car later on get a check engine light or no? A lot of people are saying that it just depends on the modifications you do to you’re engine but honestly i’m just looking for looks and a little sound😂

I have a muffler delete and I love the sound it’s nice and loud but not obnoxious and you barely even hear it inside the cabin. It’ll definitely put a smile on your face when you hit the gas and it doesn’t harm your vehicle at all, and to answer your question no check engine light at all

I’ve got a used stillen diffuser another 2014 had on it. Before attaching new 3m tape to it and then to my car ... should I sand down the edges for better bonding? Is the sanding method the same method you used in your painting video?

I probably wouldn't sand the diffuser, but using some light pressure with 1500 grit on your bumper where the tape will make contact is a good idea. Sometimes the tape has trouble sticking to the glossy clear coat of the bumper. And 1500 grit won't damage the clear and can be polished to a shine if you ever take the diffuser off.

Also thanks for your time in answering questions for our community I have a 2014 awd and been dieing for someone to explain the things you do for a regular guy !! But the street need that video @justgrowingbroke was asking for about how to race our particular car from dig or roll !! Still learning how to properly shift with shiftronic

@@bstr8upballa glad to help man. For that little bit of sanding it doesn’t have to be wet sanded. You don’t have to scrub it hard at all, it’s just to knock the sheen down a little so a very quick light pass is all you need and only where the tape will touch. And the paddle shift video is coming! Just figuring out the best way to film it!

I just have some cheap lexanis on there now that I was given to test out. They are surprisingly good in the curves just not good from a dig. I’ve done a review vid on them

I don’t really think that’s a “real” question for a rear diffuser on any street car lol. Has absolutely no impact on performance.

I have to disagree with this video whole heartedly brother. The eBay diffuser isn’t bad. The merchant that you bought yours from is the problem. You cant place all parts in one column and label them bad. Like you I bought an eBay flush diffuser, in polyurethane that came raw as does every diffuser on the market. I also prepped it myself and painted it with adhesion promoter, 1k gloss black paint and 2k clear mixed at a paint store into cans. 2 years later its looks the way it did when I painted it and it fit with no heat needed. If a diffuser is already gloss black its cheap polypropylene plastic and worthless period. Carbon is your only option for a gloss finish and even then it still needs clear coated so it doesn’t turn to crap in a few months. I could have bought a stillen diffuser for over $200 then had it painted professionally or on my own and been in over $300 for a piece of urethane. Post a link to the merchant you bought from so no one makes the mistake of buying that one. Moral of my speech here is not all eBay parts are created equal. PS: I still love you man!!!!

I didn’t mean to make it sound like all eBay stuff is bad man. If you’ve seen any of my videos I’m all about finding deals lol and just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it’s good! I see what you’re saying though. I could have been more clear. It’s just more of a general warning that if you look for parts on eBay you should do some research and also temper expectations. I’m not even sure the seller has the diffusers available anymore haha

Robert Tam i looked through my eBay purchase hostory and i must have bought it back in 2017 so its been on the car longer than I thought. I did a quick search and nothing like mine is available right now and i’m gonna say its because of the pandemic and everything. Run the search from time to time and add polyurethane to the search. Then when you view it, confirm it says polyurethane or PU in the item description as well as the item specifics. My seller was cuztomtuning

I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or if you’re being an ass lol, but if you’ve been following along, I lost my wedding ring awhile back. And because metal rings can be an issue while working on cars, I temporarily replaced it with a silicone one and black rings are not my thing, so white it was.

Those were still the small brakes at the time. They did get painted for a bit. But those brakes a long gone now.

It's not about being "cheap." It's about being practical. There is no sense in paying $300 on a diffuser that has no practical purpose and is taped on to the rear bumper. However, I will say that this particular ebay diffuser for $80 is not one I would recommend.

Picked up the carbon fiber diffuser. Horrinle fit. Had tape and screws. Looks legit now but now i have holes in my bumper if i take it off. Not a huge deal. Its not going anywhere.if you are going to order any parts get them from markie.bang on instagram for q50 and q60

Dumb? It’s pretty visible at 6:00+ and at 7:50 and it’s really damn visible on the prep and paint video and super visible in the install video. I could have not shown it at all here and still told you it’s not worth buying lol
