I have the 462 and the 620. That 620 IMO is the best bang for your buck on the market. I do like the 462 but knowing what I do now I probably wouldn't have invested in the Stihl. I do however cut at different altitudes and weather conditions so the autotune is a great feature. It's just really expensive. I was hoping Echo would market a 90-100cc saw in the states.

Mu first new saw in a looong time was a 572 XP. It is one year old and is in the shop with a faulty coil after less than 5 gallons fuel through it. The "ignition module" is back ordered and Husqvarna says will not be there for them to ship until late JUNE. So my second new saw is on its way here, an Echo 7310P. I will miss my wrap around handle and I hope for better reliability. I like fast cuts, but I prefer a reliable cutter over a race saw; besides, most of the speed of cut is in the talent of the saw sharpener ;-)

Hey guys, I just got the 620pw to run as my "big saw". I am pretty happy with it's initial performance. Nonetheless, I am not a professional arborist, just a guy who burns quite a bit of firewood and helps out family and friends occasionally with downed trees. I've cut wood for years and the past few years I Have ran a ms170 and ms290 as my main saws but the 290 just didn't have the ass to cut a lot of the wood. I even have my old homelite super xl with a 24 and it bogs down quite a bit in harder woods as well. So, not long ago I talked myself into buying a better big saw and a good small saw. I ended up narrowing down my decision to the 620pw or the 462 unaware that echo was releasing the 7310. I also purchased the 2511t limber. I am still within my return period for the 620pw and I haven't got a ton of experience with it to decide if this will be fit to be my bucking saw for the next 10-20 years. So, what I am asking is, should I return the 620 and upgrade to the 7310 for the extra 200 bucks or based on your experience with the 620, do you think it is saw enough to tackle my "big saw" work for the next 10-20. Keep in mind, I live in the mountains of North Carolina. We don't have huge West Coast tress and the biggest trees I tackle are no more than 30" Hopefully! Also, I have pretty much convinced myself that the 462 is more saw than a guy like me needs or am I wrong? Last question, I did purchase a few extra bars and chains for the 620. Will they work on the 7310?
@Broddi1693 жыл бұрын
620 has a D176 mouut. 7310 has a D009 mount so no. The 620 will tackle any job you have. Mine runs a 28 inch bar with ease. I have a few videos of the 620 on my channel running a 28 with ease.
@davidlaws61193 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the speedy reply. I just don't want to regret keeping the 620 when I could've returned and had the extra 14ish cc's to spare in the future for 200 bucks. I like the 620, don't get me wrong! I had it buried with a 27 in seasoned oak and it didn't bog once but I also haven't put my hands on the 7310 or a 462. Think I will stick with the 620 since I already invested 300 bucks in different bars and back up chains. Thanks again for the advice.

@@davidlaws6119, I've been using a 620 for the last 2.5 years in East Tennessee cutting lots of big hardwood for firewood. It's great. I have never regretted buying it. I typically run it with a 24" bar with a full comp chain but I even have a 32" bar with a couple full skip chains and it pulls it great too. I've got several videos of it on my channel if you want to see how it does. I just put up a video of it running the 32" bar in a 32"x40" oak stump. I was pleased with it. As long I kept the wedges hammered in so the bar wasn't getting pinched by the weight of the stump it did awesome.

I love that 620, I am definetly going to be all in on the Shindaiwa version of that saw 600sx I own alot of jonsereds and prefer the color and handling characteristics to their Husky cousins, I to live in interior Alaska, straight up Castrol in the bar, 45 below zero you would freeze your eyeballs shut before bar oil got poured, I hope echo/shindaiwa make cw versions of these saws, they are that nice, also I am a wildland firefighter in the summer months that 7310 has got one heck of a nice air filtration system, they need to do the little brother some justice and make something similar on the 620, then get in touch with the wildland fire folks and give them a trial run, it would be nice to see some new iron, other than stihl/ husky don't get me wrong they are all awesome just saying....
@Broddi1693 жыл бұрын
I find your feedback interesting. Your experience says a lot behind it. Thank you.
@annshort78063 жыл бұрын
I think all they would have to do is address a few minor issues, namely dial in their carburetors and get rid of those limiters, there really is no better testing ground than the fireside, they in turn could gain a wealth of knowledge from the firefighters, on what works and what doesn't also take a giant step in marketing, in the end everyone wins, the consumer as well as the manufacturer just my 2 cents, they already have nice platforms, simple reliable switches and controls.
@Broddi1693 жыл бұрын
They get around the EPA with those limiters and carb settings
@annshort78063 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree and it's the government your working for so can't do nothing about the limiters, and epa stuff, however Echo in general can tighten up thier out of box tuning, like stihl/husky they are building some damn fine saws, generally speaking they are tuned by the maintenance in camp on big fires, its the rural fires that don't have the staffing in place that are a minor pain in the butt, I firmly believe with better QC they can really make thier bones in that industry, not to say that stihl/ husky aren't without thier quirks they just are more likely to run off the shelf, and have way more customer support.

@@halfdollar86 the 620 is an incredible saw and I wouldn't consider another saw in the 60cc range over it. It has great torque and keeps grinding. I've ran a 27 on it in oak and it didn't stall.
