Echo chainsaw carburetor tuning. How to tune two stroke carburetor on an Echo CS-590 chainsaw. This is for entertainment only, I am not professional. Tools used in video are below.

Thank you for explaining the fundamental process of tuning a chain saw.. Your procedure is correct 👍 and will work every time once you don’t exceed max rpm’s.. good job

My CS-590 bought bout a year ago was assembled in Japan. Thought that was interesting cause most all their US market stuff is usually built @ their plant in Illinois. Runs like a beast all stock on canned 50:1 really great saw

Really I just figured they were all made in the US guess I am wrong. I agree they are great running saws

Other than you…I think the main issue with that chainsaw is a dull chain

Switch down to turn it off, or just let it run more than 2 seconds after starting and it shuts off every time without fail.

That saw is way out of tune..my 590 will cut circles around that one

I hate this Echo CS590. New stock coil, new stock carb, new stock air filter/plug/ and fuel filter and it only runs for two seconds choked and dies. It will not run at all unchoked. I should have stayed with Stihl.

Try changing the fuel lines. I know it is a pain but a lot of times that is the issue

@@MowerMike thank you for the recommendation. I will find a P/N and order them. Hopefully that will fix the issue, but as everything takes 2-3 weeks to arrive to VA, it will be weeks until I can try that.

@@teamja1088 Most of the carb kits on Amazon come with fuel lines and fuel filters. I would just buy one of those cheapo ones.

If you ever replace the carb on a 590, buy an OEM carb for the CS-620P. It’s a straight swap and will tune better because it doesn’t have a governed main jet. You can also buy just the jet and it’ll install in the 590 carb, but by the time you do that you might as well buy the carb. Note, that won’t make it a “cheap 620.” That would require also replacing the 620 coil. By the time you’ve bought a 620 carb and coil, you could’ve just about bought a 620P.
