Eli's been hiding his meds instead of taking them, and it shows. He's totally erratic: last minute sweeping changes to the play's script; firing Jake; jumbled thoughts. Is this kind of behavior really going to win Clare back?

Why was this storyline so drawn out whilst other storylines were rushed? Fiona's abuse storyline only lasted three episodes, even though abusive relationships are often slow to develop.

Claire Lally this was Eli's main storyline throughout the series. It was his biggest and most important. Mental illness is definitely much different from situational episodes. Fiona's alcoholism was just about as long.

Claire Lally well alli's was quite longer wasn't it? i feel like the writers don't want their characters (especially bc theyre teenagers) to suffer abuse for very long. it'd be interesting to see it play out for an adult. A teacher, even?

satan But it is not demonstrative of reality. Abusive relationships are often long and drawn out, and victims usually suffer harassment at the hands of their abusers for months or even years after they have broken up with them.

Claire Lally I agree, but at the same time I understand why they wouldn't want to drag it out on TV. They should have had an ongoing relationship turn sour. like Declan/Holly J considering it was never meant to be endgame to begin with.
