Ben and Jai are mates that have made environmentally friendly coffee pods fit for Nespresso machines. They tell us they’ve made coffee pods for coffee snobs. They’re seeking £100k for 15% of Pod & Parcel but the sharks are left wondering where their sense of humor is on the packaging...
An international sensation, Shark Tank AUS features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Tank from our Sharks, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

Great video. Personally, I don't like the fact that the grinding, the roasting and the packaging elements are not "inside" this business. I get the marketplace concept, but I think coffee (as a product) triggers a sense of "I want to make sure I'm getting the best coffee from someone who knows coffee and breathes coffee every day" in customers. They won't get this with this business.
@smashiie1889
@smashiie1889 3 жыл бұрын
It's mitigating the risk and overhead of those elements. You would need much large capital investment i.e. investment in real estate as well and capital assets to roast, grind and package in house.

No, I'm certain it'd boil down much more simple "oh this is actually the same or better quality as what I buy somewhere like Starbucks?" and to hell with caring if they're doing all the legwork themselves. As an avid coffee drinker, all I hear that gets me interested is the quality is better.
@lucasdelima537
@lucasdelima537 2 жыл бұрын
@@quintonfloyd7862 Understood, but disagree. The quality won't be better if you don't manage production from selecting coffee beans to the final product. The business models of the best coffee companies in the world today prove my point.

Seeing as how I've watched about 13hrs of Shark Tank and watched about 50 promises of "I'm worth half your business equity bc I will be 100% about YOU" ... The show is not made week to week. They récord every deal in a couple of weeks for 8 hs every day. Then it's edited. Then every shark must organize his people and send them to help the entrepeneurs. And Then they just spend the remaining 10 months having fun and supervising
