A couple things. You shouldn't put the intake and exhaust hoses so close together. You don't want to suck in the hot exhaust air. The temp gauge you're using is for measuring surface temps, not ambient temps. You need to use a wet bulb style HVAC thermometer (real cheap), which are designed to measure ambient temps.

The unit would work much more efficiently if the intake was inside the tent pulling in already cooled air

Thank you for the feedback! The weight is close to 50lbs, and the lack of a sturdy handle, feel less portable to me.

So I’ve found that it’s better without the battery if you’ve got a delta (max or pro). I keep the unit outside my tent plugged into the delta and then use the app the control it. It’s a great unit

Thanks for the review, I've been wondering how it performs. 4.7 hours isn't all-night use eh. I'm also thinking bugs are going to get into that opening no matter how well it's zipped up or toweled. Spiders, ants, you name it. :) The price for staying cool, I guess. Would prefer the air from the vent be closer to 20 degrees less than the air temp in the tent.

I'm excited for the "concept" of this unit - a portable AC that can run on battery/12V/120V and is 5000BTU. The specs on their website are a little hard to follow. For example AC input 820W max. 12V 96W, 24V 192W. But then rated cooling power on AC is 550W. I think the 820W max is 550W running plus 270W for recharging its battery (which is what you showed, Gavin). 550W for a 5000BTU AC unit is actually a little high. Most new window AC's 5100BTU are 400W. So for $1300 you get a portable a nearly-silent AC unit that can run on it's own battery and/or connect into 120V or 12/24V DC for extended run, if you have those sources available. The really strong advantage of this over an inverter generator running a window AC (or other small portable AC) would really be noise. This unit will be super quiet. Other than that, for $1300, you can buy a nice 2000W Inverter gen and regular 120V window/portable AC and have money left over, and probably better cooling. But with the noise of the gen running, if you cannot run it far away from your tent/cabin. Again, I love the concept of this unit and I'm in the market for something like this. Let's see what else comes up in this new market segment. Great review!

Next time like other stated. Just push/extend out say another 8-12” further the hot air exhaust past the intake. Also like you said. I haven’t yet with my wave 2. I’ll post back when I find something that’s decent to do it with. But I have the ZeroBreeze 2 also. A that one I found like an $12 almost like an end cap for the hose. Not really an end cap. But a perfect fit over the hose. That already had a screen built onto it. That would slip right over the end of the hose by like 2 inches that was a plastic with the screen on it. Works perfectly. Matter fact. I haven’t used either in a while. A need to get it out a see if I can locate the same type of thing for that one also. It’s made to be some kinda filter for something else. I can’t remember exactly what it was really for. But it looks nice. As if it was something ZeroBreeze or ecoflow actually designed a came it it. I’ll come back and edit an add it here for you to check out. It was from Amazon. Otherwise Only thing is. Is finding something that will catch any grass leaves an small bugs. But breathes enough air. Not to put much of a restriction to the intake of the air

I use this on my W2 5 Inch exhaust Hose. A Hose cover for insulation. Which btw you would read about 109F on hose outer tube thats inside your tent. This heats up your interior tent a lot. Makes W2 works harder. De'Longhi Insulated Hose. Cover for Portable Air Conditioners (), DLSA003 , Gray___ I also seen a generic that looks almost exact. appx $17

Nice. Wouldn’t you want the intake to pull the already cool air from inside the tent instead of trying to cool the super hot outside air? It’s like the recycle in your car.
@GeneratorReviews
@GeneratorReviews 11 ай бұрын
Yes, that’s exactly what it’s doing. The evaporator is on the front below the vent blowing the cold air out so that’s where the recirculating is being done. On the backside is the condenser that needs for air from the outside and blow the hot air out.
@keeef23
@keeef23 11 ай бұрын
Yeah I thought that as well. Instead of the hose pulling hot air in from outside the tent, have it inside pulling in already cooled air increasing its efficiency

I have my D2M attached to W2 via XT150 cable. Thus very efficient DC to DC. On the Delta 2 Max PV1 port via xt60i I connected 3 x 220w panels in serial array. Sum voltage is appx 47volt. On the D2M display Solar 1 input is 499watts. Mostly 450-480w. At Pv2 via xt60i I have attached 1 x 220 BiFicial panel. D2M Solar 2 input is often 179w

With that setup I can run my W2 from 7am to 7pm. Blowing AirC cold air into our Living room. 5 inch exhause hose goes out the Sliding Glass door via secure plastic board. The 6 inch hose is not attached to the W2. We do this everyday. Mostly the power charger need not be connected to the D2M. It usually all Solar driven
@larrywong7834
@larrywong7834 11 ай бұрын
BTW. For really cold air from W2 we need that insulation 5 inch hose cover. Typically W2 air blow out is 27-30 degrees F different from living room ambient air.

Personally it would have been great if Ecoflow had designed this heat pump to be a heater as well. Granted when it's 110° outside it's hard to think of turning on the heater. However many portable ac unit's exist already and many that are 2/3 of the cost of this ac. If Ecoflow wanted to dominate this market segment they should have built it for heat as well. Especially at the cost of this product. Additionally cheap sewer pipe abs construction as is the industry norms doesn't get me excited to buy a Ecoflow product over another. Perhaps if they used glass reinforced nylon like all of the tool manufacturers use to build their tool's with, then Ecoflow would really be different. Considering lifepo4 batteries can last a decade or two how long before that abs case becomes brittle as it ages.

@@antonwearsakilt5209if your ever looking at HVAC in the future anything called a heatpump is both. The only thing truly different that’s makes it do both is a reversing valve. That makes them able to swap up the refrigerant flow. So central air or anything. A heatpump will have both
