Great tip: did you know that if you use a white tent then it is very good for the summer days because white tents reflects sunlight to keep the inside of the tents cooler automatically, that would be good for the portable air conditioner to cool down the tent very fast. And for the winter if you use a dark colour tent for camping then the inside of your tent will stay warmer automatically because it absorbs more sunlight heat and that makes the inside of your tent temperature warmer and that will be much easier for the portable heater to warm up the tent automatically. Great video by the way. So I highly suggest if guys are in the south then I highly recommend you having a white tent, but if you’re in the farther north and camping outside in the very cold weather then having a dark colour tent is the best option for you to stay warm.

Thanks for the video Andrew. I love the technology. I'm a truck driver and the portable AC unit will be perfect for my truck. I do have four extra batteries in the truck and if th batteries get low the tractor will automatically start up to charge the batteries. A lot of OTR truck drivers would love to have this in their sleeper bunk. It also can be a backup AC unit because sometimes they do go out. Because it's portable unit I could take it anywhere and use it for any situation that I might have.

A shame it doesn’t actually work as advertised. I’ve been running one at full blast in my sprinter van for several hours and the van is still not a comfortable temperate. This can not achieve ambient cooling for a space anywhere close to what it’s advertised (5100BTU 100 sq ft). You have to sit right in front of the air vent if you want to stay cool. Hope you don’t plan on getting up and moving around too much.

After watching this video, there are a few points about Wave2 that caught my attention: The accompanying battery cannot be charged separately; it must be connected to the air conditioner to charge. This is particularly troublesome and unreasonable. When I deplete the battery of the air conditioner outdoors and want to charge it, I have to carry the entire air conditioning unit with me. Keep in mind that this adds up to a weight of 50 pounds. Wow, 50 pounds! What does that have to do with portability? For me, portability is a crucial factor to consider, and I might choose Zero Breeze instead. Their product weighs less than 30 pounds, which is half the weight of Wave2, and can be easily lifted with one hand.

I’ve been using my Wave 2 AC to cool my solar power room daily. I have it hooked to one 250 watt PV solar panel. Humidity in that room is 40% on sunny days. But I’ve noticed I need the drain tube and external drain turned on in the app. I tried running without the drain tube and AC shuts down when the tank on the Wave 2 is full. A warning message appears on the app to drain the unit. I only have the hot exhaust tube going outside. The wave 2 battery slowly drops because with fan on medium it uses 320watts. I might hook another PV panel to it.

I've noticed I have to turn the app setting on as well, I wish it was a free flowing drain as the literature made it sound. So far I've had no issues with the drain pump. You're going to need another 100 to 150 watts above what you currently have.

i could see this being an option for sleeping during power outages. my 1 problem is all the windows in the my house are the crap florida crank windows, like all 3 panes move together so it would take a whole lot of thought into how to cover the other 2 panes to have this be a window unit type thing. i have no idea how portable air units work - do they need to be connected to the outdoors? or is that what you were saying about the hot air the unit itself gives off would make the unit work harder to produce cold air? great video!
@TKCL
@TKCL Жыл бұрын

It would have cooled faster if you put the unit in the tent and only vented the heat outside! The way you see it up it had to cool the hot outside air and then blow it into the then! If you had it in the tent it would have been recirculating the cooled tent air which would have been cooler than the hot outside air! This would have put less stress on the unit to cool the tent and would have made it easier to get the tent to a lower temp faster!

I think you missed a point both testing the tent and in plumbing your equipment room. Shouldn't you use the second adapter and hose and attach them to the FRONT lower vent so that you draw from the conditioned air and cool it further before running it back into the space? You plumbed in only the cool out not the return. You've got what should be the room air return in your hot attic space. Inefficient. Also you are pushing air into the room without taking air back into the unit to cool. Which means all that extra air you are adding has to go somewhere. It has to leak out of the room. However just add another hole and collar and you can improve your efficiency. Especially because the air you'll be pulling in to the WAVE 2 will be from the ceiling area. The warmest air in your equipment room (heat rises) but also cooler air than that attic space.
@TKCL

Yes that absolutely helps and I went in great discussion at the end of the video explaining that.

Having both the Zero Breeze Mark2 and Wave1, and having watched the video, I firmly believe that the Mark2 remains the superior choice for my outdoor activities. However, the Wave2 disappoints me as it can only be powered by Ecoflow's proprietary battery and power storage, rendering my other brand's power storage and battery systems unusable. Moreover, the connection cable between the air conditioner and the battery is inconveniently bulky and prone to being misplaced. Unlike the ZB Mark2, it cannot be conveniently positioned between the front seats. Additionally, I am aware of the quality issues encountered with the Wave1, such as fan axle breakage and display failure, which understandably raises concerns among users. Unfortunately, it is challenging to anticipate when these problems might arise. The lack of information regarding any improvements made by Ecoflow for the Wave2 during this period leaves me uncertain if these issues have been adequately addressed.

Love your review. With the EFW2 in your shop___ Can you plug in the AC current power brick and Solar panel at the same time. Using all Solar Energy energy supplied during the day for free and drawing off the power brick$$$ any extra energy not supplied by Solar. Thus the EFW2 can run steady for like 20 hours. But your $$$ cost used is lower because you had some huge $$savings from the free Solar power. Would hate it in the above situation IF the Solar energy produced(watts) was not used fully because of the simultaneous attachment of the EFW2 power brick!

Do you open your windows and doors in your house when the house AC is on ? People, please place the unit inside the conditioned space and use the dual hose attachments to pull and exhaust the hot outside air used for the condensing 1/2 of the system. All this dude did is show you how not to operate this AC unit.

Don't buy this thing. the battery need the top part (36Lb) main machine to charge the add on battery. So, wherever you need to charge the battery, you need to bring the top part. Just don't understand why the battery is detachable for no meaning. They don't have an individual charger for the add on battery. the designer is out of mind. Don't make sense.

It's detachable for cost reasons. Not everyone wants or can afford the battery. You can easily run it without the battery. I too would like to see additional battery charging options.

With most of the outdoor options being battery or power station only, the design is really bad, I might consider the zero breeze, the heating feature isn't too important to me anyway.

For heating Why don’t you KZfaqrs ever mention it doesn’t work under 40 degrees. Smh. You’d think thats kind of important to mention ? Especially winter use in the evening when you need it the most

This thing is just all around overhyped. I bought one to try and cool off my sprinter van and it’s advertised 5100 BTU which can cool a 100 sq ft room. This thing can’t even keep my sprinter van at a comfortable temperature in may which is not even close to our hottest month in Texas. DO NOT BUY THIS THING UNLESS YOU HAVE ALOT OF EXTRA MONEY TO THROW AROUND. You could buy a nice gas generator and conventional AC for the same price.
