X1 Omni on Amazon - geni.us/6Ah4M
The latest updated list of robot vacuums we recommend: www.consumeranalysis.com/guid...
We tested the X1 Omni which features two spinning mopping pads and comes with a dock that automatically empties its dust bin, cleans and dries its mopping pads, and refills its reservoir.
The X1 Turbo is almost identical, but its dock does not automatically empty its bin. So it’s essentially an X1 Omni with a focus on self-cleaning mopping.
The X1 Plus is also almost identical to the X1 Omni, but its dock doesn’t self-clean its mop. So it’s essentially an X1 Omni with a focus on vacuuming. It also doesn’t have two mopping pads that rotate. It features a single mopping pad that’s dragged across the floor.
In this video we analyze the X1's carpet (general and deep cleaning), hard floor, edge, and hair (human and pet) pickup performance. We also discuss the robot's raw performance (CFM and suction), mopping (our comments here will mostly apply to the Turbo and especially the Omni model), navigation and coverage, small obstacle detection and avoidance, battery life, bin size, and noise output.

I've had this model for about 6 months and admit it was a challenge getting it setup initially. Part of it was the learning curve associated with it but after that it has been trouble free. Once I got a good map saved and stay away from using Auto mode I have had no problems. Very satisfied with the vacuum and mopping. Found early on that using Auto mode attempts to improve the map continuously but often messes the map up if you leave a door closed for example. Overall very pleased.

I agree. The auto mode is just a stupid feature. I have also had mine for about 6 months and must say I am very happy. As I have a lot of dogs there is a lot of hair that gets picked up and tangles are nothing like I was in this video. My object recognition also works well, except from one horrible time. Dog pooped on the floor and the X1 ran over it! Why? It was the same issue I have with my Roomba J7. I sent it to the back room to clean and one of my dogs messed i the passage. That was on the way to the back room. It seems like the vacuums do not switch on their object recognition until it reaches the destination. The "travel" path it just drives there without checking anything or cleaning. Apart from that, I have been very happy with my purchase.

@@hansielategan969 I have found object recognition to work even on it's way to it's destination. I think having low light causes it to mess up. Also if the coloration is similar to the object. Wonder what color your floors are relative to the poop. On the Auto mode, ecovac should break it into two options, Auto mode without Mapping and Auto mode with map creation or enhancement. That way you could use Auto to clean the whole house without fear of your map being messed with and still be able to map if needed. It's disappointing to know the software needs improvement yet no updates in the 8 months I've owned.

@@drivescorvette The low light may actually be the problem as the passage is fairly dark if no light is switched on. Must say, has only happened once so far and the dogs do mess very now and again - I have a 17 years old dachshund, who has given up caring! lol

@@hansielategan969 Understand, we have a morkie that will be 17 on the 10th (next week ) . She has only messed a couple of times when she was sick and not since we've had this X1 omni. Eats a little and sleeps a lot but still likes her walks. Good talking

You might have realized now that time to time with Ecovacs software, you would have had map overlay problems. The map overlay problem would cause the navigation problem , you might try reload the map and finally you would be too tired then go for remapping... I have had N8+ for almost 3.5 years without any mechanical issue but software issues ...that stops me to think my next robot would be Ecovacs UNTIL UNTIL they would release new robot maybe later this 2023 years kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iLSCatOCvM7Vgo0.html - a new form of robot, square one ,,,X2 Omni ,,,seems to be promising robot!! I hope they would fix/correct their software at that time!

Did you have the Strategic Particulate Removal option set to ON? It's a new feature found in the Lab Features area. It is designed to clean up course dirt particles to prevent them from being knocked away. Wonder if that would help with the cheerios.

Just picked it up for 1k, replacing the irobot S9+ combo. Worth it to me for the lidar mapping and automation

Good to see you in the big leagues with the flagships! I had a terrible experience with Ecovacs. Buggy software, poor navigation, terrible support. Right now it feels like the Xiaomi ecosystem is the way to go in this space.

Yeah I have an OZMO 950. I mean, I got it in 2020 with a discount and it does a good job for daily maintenance. The problem comes with the next generation. I can see that they have the same weird movements and pathing. Not to mention trash app.

@@DaveQV Obstacle avoidance is terrible on basically all models and makes. It's not worth it until the technology becomes functional. Luckily that's quickly in Vaccum years.

I have a indoor poolhouse with a full size swimming pool with water inside of it all year round. Can I use it to wash and vacuum the poolhouse floors without falling into the swimming pool if I buy it?

The Ecovacs detection & avoidance system been not efficiently nor accurately at least at the version I got the T8 but not really deal breaker if the price is right to get X1 Omni Have you tested the mapping and app feature of X1 Omni? My exp with Ecovacs app and T8 robot, sometimes the robot doesn’t know and loses tracks how to get back to base. Beside the X1 Omni has defective mopping pad, the original pad came with it has very low liquid absorbing capability thus the water doesn’t get to the other side of the pad thus mopping is not so good with original pad vs after market mopping pad helps to mop the floor cleaner! I would wait second gen of this x1 Omni!

Thank you for the review, it is really fair. Due to the poor performance of large debris and short hair pick up and long hair tangling, I would give it a pass and wait for another better model to come.

After looking into many video from testing video from many youtuber, customer feedback at Bestbuy, Amazon..etc...I came to conclude X1 Omni is hit/miss type of Vacuum/Mop robot and I should stay away until they have another version without video recording like S8 Pro Ultra (for security and privacy concerns)....! Their T8+ Bestbuy version works great after 4 years (I am using Pro module with it) so I would wait a few more gens coming out from both Roborock and Ecovacs!
