I run the Stereointegrity IB24 in my F150 in a blow through .... without alot of EQ at all its flat to 10hz .... but the main reason I use it is for the SQ ... the kick drums are now INSANELY tight and uncolored by resonance or compression .... driving it with a 5k Bass Teramp at 2 ohm and eat eats 2500watts without a sweat .... last sub I will ever need

Cool topic. When I was working as a car audio installer, in the early 90's that Clarion speaker was the beast! But I would rather have smaller speakers and cleaner sound, versus massive bass, now! But.... I still appreciate a low bass system!

If you ever try to build a 5 foot subwoofer running off of servos, you might have to use a armored truck or shipping container braced up similar to the Matterhorn subwoofer, or use and modify the tank on a propane delivery truck? Building the subwoofer sounds fun and challenging but not impossible, finding a vehicle that will survive it might be the expensive and complicated part

I really hope the next video, will be your list of amplifier designs. I know I have a couple in mind that set pretty high up on the list. Companies that actually employee Engineers to design a circuit from scratch could really use the appreciation you know, plus I think a lot of people would be surprised by which companies actually make the list. Love the videos keep them coming. P.S. coming out to TDH again this year?

That woofer was the inspiration for the mtx jackhammer. The surround was an inner tube from a tractor tire the linear servo motor had the magnets in a rod in the center with large fixed staged coils driving the rod. This can be done at a smaller scale and much faster today thanks the the speed of modern mosfets and microcontrollers it like combines a 8ch amp with a 8 phase bldc motor

I'd use a large inner tube for the surround on a sub like the last one, also the B2 33" is based on a standard basket used also by Ground Zero, Deaf Bounce and GAS, and possibly a couple others. These are European brands, not sure of anyone in the US making one.

Richard pioneered caps, then held a 10k cash prize for anyone who could prove they actually work? Or do I have the wrong guy?
@bummrplayer
@bummrplayer Жыл бұрын
Some Installers were using stiffening caps prior to RC bringing them to the fore front , The 10k prize was for an audio challenge of "hearing" the tonal differences between 2 amps, in a lab test setup. I think that 10k is still up for grabs. (I attended several A2K seminars that this was talked about). I Met Richard a year or so before he purchased the SW Buick, when he was competing with his Cadillac which was a superb install on itself. The "Bread Truck" was first unveiled at the IASCA World Finals in 1997 ( I was event staff and had to assist in trafficking vehicles around safely, and This was one of many that garnered extra attention). It arrived "late" since it was involved in a traffic accident on its way to the event. and yes.. it "broke" during the competition, since i was busy with the event, I had no idea was truely happened... I Talked to Mark Eldridge a few years back about the Bread Truck, he may have intel on what broke during the event. 29:41 and 47:48 ( and yes i am in the back by that big overhead door somewheres, but being 5'6" i am hidden like waldo) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nJuioK113c7HeqM.html
