What's really beautiful about this song is the fact that Ed chooses to show two sides of love. One which can hurt and the other which can heal. He pictures it as a paradox but even though it has a negative side it still is the one and only true thing which a person can have forever.This song brings tears to my eyes. Its so beautifully written that its hard not to get moved by it.

I've never thought about photographs this way.. as something that freezes the moment. I mean, even if someone is not in your life anymore from whatever reason, looking at a photograph of both of you is something to cherish, it makes you remember how happy you were. Great song!

I cry every time I hear this song. I lost everything I had (including photographs) in a house fire last year...two months later my dad passed. My brother passed in 2009 at the age of 21 (I'm now 24) and this song reminds me of them as well as my grandmother who raised me who passed in 2013.

I miss my high school friends too. I was so ready to go, you don't realize how much you'll miss high school till your gone. I'd give anything for another summer and then senior year. A few days I found that a lyric from this song was stuck in my head so I came to youtube to listen to it and that was when I realized it was about long distance relationships. I'm currently in a long distance relationship and it's almost like I was meant to hear it in this moment.
