Ed Sheeran is out with his second album of the year, "Autumn Variations." "CBS Mornings" co-host Gayle King listened to it exclusively with the singer. In our extended interview, Sheeran goes deeper into the inspiration for his new album. He also talks about therapy and doing the “tourist thing” in cities across the U.S. while on tour, and he explains why he still feels he has to prove himself.

Just love him. A more down to earth human you simply couldn't find. And that he's not the "typical" super star artist is the BEST. His talent simply speaks for itself and is so much bigger than all the outward shallowness the industry is usually about. And anyone finding fault with him, or his work, well, they're just wrong. ❤

Ed Sheeran is my most favorite artist ever in my 51 years! He’s so real and down to earth that he makes me feel like I could meet him, go to a pub to hang out, and have the best time ever. I don’t go to concerts anymore but I had said if Ed Sheeran has another concert in U.S. I would fly to see it. Next thing I know he had released tour dates in states. So my son bought us all tickets to Ed’s PA July 8, 2023 concert and my bff and I flew all way from Florida. BEST CONCERT EVER IN MY LIFE!! I’m his biggest fan that he doesn’t know anything about. 😢😂😂

Ed fan since I was 16. I'm 28 now. 😭 the love i have for him I can't even put into words. This interview was wonderful. He is so grounded, humble but also so larger than life and expansive at the same time. And I thought Gayle was such a sweet interviewer and clearly admires him. Enjoyable to watch all around

Ed Sheeran is truly my favorite artist. He’s literally the only one who have bought every album he has put out. His music is powerful in so many ways! I’ve never been able to see one of his shows, but I hope I can someday. It’s definitely number one on my bucket list.

I enjoy Gayle's interviews very much. It feels to me as she enjoys the music of Ed Sheeran at least as much as I do. Love hearing the creative genius that flows thru and out of him as he works his way thru the interview. And yes Gayle states just how cute he is as I have felt and he has no idea. The red hair like the music is apart of his persona and he couldn't help either one. ❤

I so want to hear I remember you. I’ve never loved an artist as much as I do Ed. I can listen to his music and I feel it in my son. The word she seems to be searching for is down to earth. I had the fortune of seeing Ed in concert recently and I thoroughly enjoyed his performance. He’s such a talent. I love how he embraces his career and how much he enjoys creating 24/7. That’s when you know you’ve found pure joy in life…..when you connect with your passion and you live it! The guy is genius! He can write 3 songs in one evening! This is the life I’ve always envisioned myself being a part of (a musician…..singer/ songwriter) though it never came to fruition. Why? That’s a great question.
