This song was beautiful and you can tell it comes from his heart.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Ed wrote this song about the death of a good friend. He first sang it at his memorial.

I know exactly where you're at. I lost my grandfather last october. It was hard. I loved that man a lot. I would give anything to be able to visit him in heaven. Listening to songs like this allowed me to process my grief because it let me know that i wasnt alone in my grief and it gave me a healthy outlet to let myself feel the pain so i could get through it faster. It probably doesnt work that way for everyone but it worked for me.

@@Linnellinorhenriksson yeah you are the same as me at first I was in denial about my grandad on my mum side dying and played it off like it was nothing later down the line I realised how real he was in my life and the grief settled in

Definitely a way to deal with the grief, and I use the same method myself from time to time. I also find some peace in learning these songs myself, and sing it. I could recommend that you listen to Supermarket Flowers…. A beautiful song Ed wrote when he lost his grandma ❤️

Sorry for your loss🙏 My grandmother very suddenly passed 2 weeks before he first sang this song. God Bless Ed for writing this song. It helped me get through the grief.

I'm so sorry for your loss, it is pretty hard. I lost my mother 6 months ago, and i had to be just a machine that works, because my father was just not able to do anything. I just started to really feel that loss, and it hurts so damn much... that song just hurts so much... it's like "i dont want to hear that", but also "i need that"

Uff I lost my grandmother 8 years ago and granddad 6 years ago. And I miss them so much :( When i listened to the song, I balled my eyes out. There isn't a day when I don't think about them. I wish I could visit them in heaven and tell them how it is going down there :(

I lost my brother to suicide in 2017 and I wish I could visit him. He left so many and his boy’s cry all the time. They miss their daddy so much.

@@Linnellinorhenriksson he said he finished this in hotel Quarantine when he flew to Australia for the funeral of his friend and Mentor Michael Gudinski he sung it live first time at his memorial service which was televised in Australia you can find it here on KZfaq. Regardless its from the heart and dedicated to Gudinski.

Do you dislike songs when they’re written by 5 or 6 members of the band? By the way, a writer gets credited on a song when they contribute literally one chord change. Pretty sure most of the song came from Ed
