How do you edit videos with rounded rectangles in Adobe Premiere Pro? Easy.
Find out how to change sharp borders to have more rounded or curved corners while still being able to edit video in the timeline.
This method works great when cropping or masking video that still needs editing, time remapping or linked audio. It's the easiest effect to give extra polish to your cinematic vlog, travel video or any creative project really.
What you DON'T need:

You can make the black bars invisible by exporting your video in a format that allows transparent pixels (also known as an alpha channel). Here's a list of formats: www.digitalrebellion.com/blog/posts/list_of_video_formats_supporting_alpha_channels

hey mate, when I go to stretch out the mask to one side, it's only letting me stretch out one corner, I've tried selecting both corners like you showed in the video, and holding shift but it still doesn't work. Any ideas why?

Make sure you've selected both corner points (they will have a blue fill rather than an outline), and don't hold shift until you after you start dragging.

Adjust the position/scale using the Transform effect instead of Motion.

To do this, don't add the mask to the Opacity effect. You want to apply the Alpha Adjust effect first and add the mask to that. Tick Inverted and Invert Alpha. Then add the Shadow effect below this.

Any fool or program can make a rounded corners video with a black background. Doing it with a transparent background is another matter. Easily done for images but can't find any way or program to do it for videos and doubt if there's any program ever created that can do it.

@@ThePremierePro I'd be more inclined to believe you if your video didn't show a black background (not transparent) surrounding the now rounded video. I can easily make a rounded video in video pad using a mask .But the video will always have a square black or white background surrounding the the rounded video. It would be fine if my web page (where I want the video) had a single color, But it has gradients and pictures. A png image is rounded with transparent background but never a video. Show me a rounded video on a web page or the like (with a complicated background) and then I will believe you.

@@akertyne I didn't realise you were talking about embedding videos on web pages - this tutorial only covers making the rounded corners within the video itself.
