Great motivation mentioned around the 10 min point about perseverance to not give up learning the Daf if you miss some days, simply write down the missing days and make time at a later date to do them.

Really impressed and also surprised that R'Eli employs the use of Triangle Number Gematria. (משולשים) This is where Alef = 1 Bais = 3 Gimmel = 6 Dalet = 10.. (The Alef Bais matched to the Triangle number sequence) @6:27 R'Eli presents a Gematria equation of זה לא הדף זה היומי = תפילין. The regular Gematria for תפילין is 580 and the regular gematria for זה לא הדף זה היומי is 215. It is only when you employ the cipher of משולשים that זה לא הדף זה היומי has a numerical value of 580 like Tefilin.. Wow! I thought that I was the only one who uses a gematria calculator for things like this! Yasher Koach R'Eli!

I can't tell if you're joking or not. But he didn't mean the numerical value at all. He just equated Daf yomi being daily just like Tefillin is daily.

@@aboredbochur It might look like I was joking, but in truth I see everything in terms of numbers and gematria equations and since R'Eli has mentioned gematrias on numerous occasions, I figured he was doing that here.. In fact Tefilin in regular gematria (580) does equal Zeh lo Hadaf zeh hayomi on the Triangle number cipher (580).. Interesting coincidence I guess..

Surely you mean 176? You're mistake is that the gemara starts from 2. So 176-1=175

@@aboredbochur try asking how he came up with the number instead of automatically assuming he's wrong... It could have been a misprint.... the 4 digits may have represented , Im ha kollel....a place you wont make it with being hypercritical and rude is a kollel too...😉
