That was my first truck! Ford could easily sell 10k of these a year. Stamping those old parts with modern technology would be a piece of cake to Ford engineers. I would like an old extended cab version for the reasons stated here, other than that freakin' sweet!

I’d love to try doing a dual setup like that with the Z32 platform of the 90s. Too bad there’s no basic control or battery options, it really limits the viability if you have to found a full ev company just to gain access to a parts infrastructure or a full tech company to build a basic control system with a viable io interface. Though it’d be fun to try anyway.

Funny that I think it would be cool to just have a stock interior with the modern drivetrain. At most integrate a screen for android auto/carplay and call it good. I mean what more do you really need? Plus the original interior just matches the vehicle so much better. I mean, this guy isn't tall and barely fits in it!

There should be a company that you give them your make model and year 4x4 ; rear or front wheel drive or AWD and they build you the frame and all you just add your body bolt on charge and go.

Best review of an ev elktromod from a true gear head that I've yet to see. 👍🏻😎 I suggest if you haven't already? Looking into the aem now Holley high voltage tesla swapped 2006 mustang gt called testang. That maybe more up your alley so to speak. Conversion was done by a hot rodder user name roadstercycle on here. In his own garage in about a year. Single rwd setup with entire irs bolt in sub frame he customized and uses a custom pack while it runs high 11s. Cost him under 25k total to build. He's even got a 2nd tesla swapped stang on his channel now using a cheaper lighter more efficient model 3 rear drive unit.

The mere fact of bringing a truck with human dimension , is to say , with a low belt line is already something in itself , even if it's a restomod . Unfortunately today big and menacing pick-up rule the market , like the new ford and gm electric pick-ups who are still stupidly big.

As much as i love the sound the feel the smell of the ICE. I do understand EV is the future and someday we will be looking at ICE like we look at horses now. fun to ride/drive on the weekend on not as practical. When they start making these swaps easy like this compared to ice. Its gonna be a cheap go to for someone that wants to go fast. Plus i feel like ford will allow tuning of a EV something you will never see from Tesla. Tesla will always be like a non upgradeable IOS product. Ford i feel will allow some customization. I feel the jail broken hellcats are dodges way for you to get use to buying tunes/updates for their future EVs

People for the past 30 years: bring back retro body styles, these new ones suck. Car companies: **ignores people** I hear you guys like fake exhausts! Also car companies: how do we get people to buy EVs since most consumers don’t want them? **looks at people’s opinions online** Oh yeah bring back retro body styles, why didn’t we think of that? I’d own one of these and would love one but I hate EVs and would rather have a simplified V8 setup with a carb and none of the overly complicated electronics of modern cars. Why they couldn’t do this and make it a bare bones pickup is beyond me.

The truck was built in a VERY short time period. It was a collaboration of five teams and intended as a working proof of concept to boost EV motor sales for Ford. It's a one of one so some of the comments seem misplaced. I know this project very well and spent many hours getting it ready for the 2021 SEMA show. It fits pretty dang good for a F-100 work truck that was repainted and planted onto a one off chassis. It's pretty straight but far from perfect as it was never meant to be a Ridler award contender. It will likely be on the Hotrod power tour this summer where if allowed Freiburger will do his evil best to destroy it. Mark perhaps you feel the teams owe you an apology for the pain you endured examining their creation in a video.
