"There are no good men out here"
"I can't find a man on my level"
"Men today are either lazy or broke"
"I'm not taking care of a grown man"
"50/50? Heck no I want to have the option to stay at home"
And, depending on where you are some women may have a point. However, it's very common to hear these same women say.......
"I'd never get with a factory worker"
"I don't dislike blue collar men per se it's just they don't "fit" with my lifestyle"
"I don't want a man I can't take anywhere"
"Men like this are uncouth"
"What do I look like dating a man that....."
"These kind of men are boring, not well read, and a bore"
BLAKE HENRYs is greatly outnumbered by Blue HENRYs when it is measured in incomes. And, it goes without saying that there a magnitudes more single available men in the blue collar ranks than white collar.
The U.S economy is aching for many more highly skilled, technically trained people. But what if men end up limiting their eventual marriage prospects if they pursue careers in the trades or other jobs that don’t require a four-year degree? Some proportion of women who have bachelor’s and post-baccalaureate degrees avoid romantic involvements with such guys, holding out for those with B.A.s, M.B.A.s, or J.D.s. Which is to say, they seek potential husbands who have degrees that are more generally esteemed than those earned in a year or two. Same with the kinds of training acquired via apprenticeships or in the armed forces.
Are educated women hurting their chances only focusing on part of an already small group of white collar men?

Much needed conversation. My husband (now deceased) was blue collar, made more money than me, opened my eyes to a different life. He was former military and spent most of his career as a supervisor in a factory. He was a good man and I almost missed out because of my attitude. Didn’t take much for me to get my act together and realize what I had in him.

That’s funny. I do the same thing. The ones who are dismissive, I charge them what I please. The ones who treat me like a human being, I give a discount to if I can. I never offer that I’m the owner voluntarily though. I like to see the fakers demeanors change (especially the snobby ones) when they learn I’m the owner. It always makes for a good laugh afterwards.

My friend works in a high end retail location and she makes 125k a year plus bonuses. She dated my friend who drives trucks and earns 75k a year. After 3 years, she broke up him because of she couldn’t get past him being a truck driver. She was also embarrassed to tell her female friends of his profession. Fast forward 5 years later, he is happily married with 2 kids. My female friend is 45 years old and still on the dating scene. She recently admitted to me that she blew that opportunity with a great guy. 🤷🏿‍♂️

My dad always said that "if you make enough to have a social life you usually don't Have one. If you have a social life you probably don't make enough to have one." He raised 9 kids making 300,000+ a year. My mom and dad balanced each other out perfectly. Before he died my mom was surprised about the amount of money they had on stash. Dad told her that if she knew they had that much they would not have that much. Wise man I can longer talk to.

You are right but that value that they are born with is dwindling every year. Prince Charming is Prince for a reason. He can have the pick of the bunch. So they need to be careful. They can be picky but be too picky and waste time you will be replaced. Youth is the name of the game for women.

To any young women reading this, judge the man not his title. As an Electrician, I was ignored by so many educated black women. No worries though, little did they know I was taking night classes and earned an Engineering degree... debt free being ex-military in the state of Illinois. Update: (8 months later) Never would've thought this comment would get so much attention. Thank you to all who have had a kind word to say. To the naysayers, I won't give any of my energy beyond this statement... As for the update. Upon graduation, I secured a lucrative position at a National Laboratory working for the Dept. of Energy. The education helped (I guess), but it was the blue collar background that got me in the door... go figure. I still see alot of the women mentioned before in various social circles. I remain cordial, but that's about it. The woman who encouraged me when I was running the race gets my full attention. Those who were waiting at the finish line aren't worth my time. The loyalty she displayed is PRICELESS in my eyes. She doesn't know it yet, but she has a 2 carat diamond in her immediate future.

In my opinion, on the first dates, the question of occupation should be "forbidden". Mening don't bring it up. But I know that this is an utopia with todays women. It will never happen. But what I can't understand is these millionere guys that TELL AND SHOW the women that they are rich. That is just lazy and stupid. It is like they WANT women to chose them because of their money. That is not an intelligent plan for happiness for ANY man. Millionere men should date like the "under cover boss". I mean not to be disguised per se, but with that MINDSET. HIDE your richness! And try to find a women that want you for who you are, and NOT for your money! That's the plan I would have. But I am not rich, but I can't understand why rich men humiliate them selfes like they do, letting women pick them, because of money...

I've been pulling high five figures ($80k-$95k) for nearly a decade and on my way to six figures this year as a Supervisor. A newly married woman was chilling with her girlfriends when her new electrician hubby comes through the door dirty and sweaty from work. He says hi then goes to get cleaned up while the girlfriends swoop in on the wife. Girl why did you marry that dirty man, what happened to the doctor with the big house or that lawyer with the nice cars? She just shakes her head and says girls let me learn ya. That doctor was nice but all he wanted to do was examine it. That lawyer was cool but all he wanted to do was talk about it. And yea that electrician is dirty when he gets home but all he wants to do is lay pipe.

I remember when I got my first job, washing dishes at this restaurant. I was 16 years old and my job was to clean up and bring the clean dishes up to the front. The thing was when you got to the front the customers could see you. With that said, I was spotted by this beautiful lady who was much older than I was. I didn't stare at her or anything but she called me over and told me "You are cute but nobody wants a man who washes dishes." I was caught off guard at the age of 16 because, for one, she had to be close to 30. Plus, I didn't even expect her to say those words. I thought she had a question like where is the bathroom or something. I learned about gold diggers quick and was motivated by that one lady's comments. In about 2 months I became a grill cook and of course finished college and started making big money.

She has supported me as I've changed career, worked 16 hour days. Even when I went to community College full-time and still worked 4 jobs. I would sometimes be up for 20+ hours. She is Mexican. Her father is also a mechanic with his own business. Of course we have had our rough times. She still stands by me no matter how hard it gets. We live I'm California so she does work as well. I am the primary income by quite the difference. Our kids definitely have a good life in our financial bracket.

Our combined incomes have afforded us a very comfortable life , with a beautiful home and nice vehicles. I saw my parents, both blue collar workers ,work hard together and do very well for themselves...I followed their path. I believe it's all about perspective. I believe Kevin is out here changing women's perspective to a more of a realistic one....he is helping them. Pay attention ladies!
