I PLAY MASS IN JASON GRIFFITH BAND FROM BELMONT IN 1980 FIREMAN AND THIS CALYPSO WAS THE MOST PLAYED.SUGAR JAM.SELAH.

As a youngster I was familiar with the name Lord Melody but the songs Rastaman Be Careful and Sugar Jam were the first of his songs I was really familiar with. Subsequently I of course learnt of others like Mama Look A Boo Boo and some of the other classics I was always sweet however, no pun intended , on the song Sugar Jam. That baseline is too wicked and I like the line in the song "When she get home she let down she hair then she declare jam in anyway, yeah ". There I was as an 11 or 12-year-old and thinking to myself, "Ya hear that phrasing. Kaiso fuh so, man". Thanks for the melodies, great phrasing and lyrics Lord Melody. RIP.
