There is something very special about boarding a brand spanking new ship! We are in California and are on a pre-inagural sailing for just two short days on Discovery Princess. This is not only our first ever Princess cruise but our first time sailing with the Medaillion technology... we have heard how cool it is and we get to try it our for ourselves!

❤❤❤ Been waiting for this video! First off Happy belated birthday 🎂 Jason! 2nd, love the new ocean intro! 3rd Can't wait to go on our 1st cruise since the shut down and it will be on the Discovery in November and I knew that your video would be the one to watch! Yes, those bridges are scary to drive over even in a car with all those semi's 🚚. But I love looking over ( hubby driving 😁) to see what cruise ships are in port. Thanks again for another great video!

Princess always has THE best pools and hot tubs. I'm a hot tub person too and when you think about it less kiddie stuff leaves a lot more room on the lido deck!!

Thank you for showing this ship. This is right in my back yard! So tempting! I remember Princess cabins being smaller. Last princess ship I was on was the crown princess which I think is still anchored off the coast of the port of Long Beach.

Great intro cruise. Love the aft balcony as they do not have them staggered so people can't look down on your balcony. Great design. Love all the new cruiser friendly designs.

Great video. Also watched the tour of all the different cabins. Very informative and entertaining. Our first cruise was on the Coral Princess from Vancouver to Alaska. Princess is a Class Act. Like the medallion concept and the App. They make your cruise carefree. I think the Wife/Husband locater would be very useful should you lose each other on such a large ship. We have the best of both worlds on our cruise in June. corner aft balcony. wraps around side and back. Never splurged like this before. Can NOT wait!!! Thanks for your videos. You guys are fun to watch.

Great tour and a good way to get a good feel for the ship! For some reason, I always thought cruises were just for retired people in their 70's. I couldn't have been more wrong about that. I went on one about 5 years ago out of Florida and my opinion about them took a complete 180. Cruising might be my favorite way of vacationing now. I'm really looking forward to going on a cruise with one of my kids next year. We've been looking at different cruises and the Discovery Princess was one of the ships/cruises I came across. I love all the things you guys mentioned about being on the ship too. I love the peace and quiet you get early in the morning or at night, especially being out on the open sea. And one of my favorite memories on my first cruise was hanging out on the front of the ship on one of the shaded loungers where there was hardly anyone around, enjoying the expansive views across the ocean and the gentle wind that you get when the ship is up to speed on the way to the next stop. I'm getting excited just thinking about it 😆. There's definitely nothing like cruising. Everyone has to experience it at least once in their life!

Great review and so glad you were able to enjoy an aft room, this time! The comedian was the same one on the Celebrity Apex from the February cruise and he was so funny. It was so enjoyable to have met you two on that cruise😎Keep up the great work you do and love.

Adore Princess & love the medallion (my husband calls it the wife lo jack). We always try for a mini suite for the extra space, but the aft balcony looks amazing! Thank you for taking us along on your latest adventure

Loved your video. I took the Princess Majestic last month north to SF and back down to LA. We loved the location feature and the chat which was free on the Medallion app. My girlfriends and I always used it to find each other. The Princess Discovery looks beautiful.

Hey Alisa and Jason, thanks for the great video tour. Will be sailing on her in Oct. on The Love Boat cruise. FYI, I was just on the Sky Princess, my first medallion cruise too, turns out if it's your very first time using the medallion, it does take longer (loading) to get onto it to use it. Thanks again for everything you both do.

Navigation trick Princess Ships. On decks 5, 6, and 7, head to elevators closest to your room, then take that elevator up to your room and walk from there. Your walk won't feel as long.

The medallions are really handy. Bonus - we were on the Emerald during our anniversary. Every one of those tall signs in the elevator areas wished us a "Happy Aniversary" as we walked by. That is a little like "The Minority Report," but it was still fun.

Have mostly sailed Princess - but just one ship the (older) Grand Princess. We live on the W. Coast and it sailed quite a bit out of San Francisco. Loved it, but no medallion technology when we were on her. Having since ventured out and tried some different ships, I can say that Princess' cabins (we always got a jr suite as it was myself and kids) seem generally smaller than other lines. The Jr. Suite seemed smaller than the Havana Cabana we had on the Panorama recently. Definitely a "classic" old world ship feel IMO. Sooooo fun to see all you're experiencing on this inaugural voyage!

I love the find my shipmates thing. I typed "where are you guys" a million times in my group chat on our last Carnival cruise lol, as did the rest of my party. To be able to just use the app and see exactly where they are, that's amazing. Especially with cruising with my teenagers.

We always sail in aft cabins. I love them! The only one that had any negatives was Norwegian Bliss. Some vibration and noise and soot on the balcony one day.

In your preferences, you can select to receive the daily “patter” in paper form. Also the daily schedule is on the big screens by the elevators. Love the fruit cookies too 😋

@@happytraveller2122 we've never smelled ship exhaust nor have we ever experienced soot on any aft balcony we've ever had and that includes the Sensation, which was a really old ship that is now at the scrap yard. On the Sensation, we had the same aft balcony room on 2 seperate cruises. No soot, no smell.

Great video! We can’t wait until we get the “all clear” to sail again on our beloved Princess ships. How lucky is it that this new ship is sailing out of the port just a few miles from our home? On that note, here’s a locals tip for avoiding those bridges in the future: Take the Harbor (110) freeway to the exit just a few blocks from the Cruise port. The bridges are a short cut to connect Long Beach harbor with San Pedro (LA Harbor). There’s no need to take them otherwise…unless you want to for thrills. I’ve lived in the South Bay for ages and go to both Long Beach and San Pedro frequently, when I am able to get out and around, but have only crossed the bridges on two nail biting occasions.

Hi ..San Diego here again .we took the second sailing right after you on the discovery we really wanted to have time to explore the ship so we did a one week California coastal and added another week Mexican. It was great we love the medallion we got spoiled also.. we didn’t like the bathrooms that was the smallest of all bathrooms we have cruised on out of 40 cruises. But we didn’t spend much time in there 😅 that was fine ..my husband took his showers at the spa after he got done working out at the gym so he had a much bigger shower. That was great.. we definitely will be booking it again since we live in San Diego we don’t fly to our cruises anymore there’s a lot of options out of San Diego and out of Long Beach for us. Discovery is definitely going to be our go to cruise. We don’t care much about going to Mexico again because we have been there so many times and we live 30 minutes from Mexico. So we will just go on there to enjoy the cruise and the ship and all the amenities it offers.😮

It’s funny that I’ve seen Robbie Prince probably 3 times now and gunna probably see him for the 4th. Funniest joke is about cats. I like princess because it’s an older clientele…so quite and peaceful. One trip my 3 kids made up 50% of the ships 14 and under passengers haha!

Just done our first Princess cruise. Loved the medallion system but the lack of usb and sockets was ridiculous, particularly when you rely on your phone for app so need it charged! Thankfully we had packed an adapter as we wouldn’t have managed without very well at all. The hairdryer was awful - like something from the 1970’s that was attached to a holder on the wall. Other than that it was great. We did have the same wardrobe and cupboard space. So much hanging room. We also had a bath with shower over so the negative of a shower curtain rather than door/screen but the room was overall a good comfortable room. As always staff were amazing.

So happy you finally enjoyed Princess! Princess is my cruise line of choice. Did the first Medallion cruise in 2019 on the Regal. Alyssa you should complete Commodore Status of Princess Academy. You get a free graduation cruise! You also get Elite Status every time you cruise with Princess....It's amazing. Once you travel Elite you will be TOTALLY spoiled!!!
