Danzig III was my introduction into the best genre of music I could ever imagine myself loving. I stole it from a hockey dressing room at a tournament at eleven years old. I still have it. From there it was COC ‘Blind’ amd the rest is glorious history. Thanks for being a part of my first musical love.

The first four Danzig albums are pure gold! I like 4 or 5 songs off 5 & 6 and a few songs from the albums that followed but it was never the same after the original band split in 1995. The current lineup still performs a kick ass live show though.

I love how he kind of disses Rubin's input on those albums, but from the sound of it the reasons I like the Danzig stuff more than the Samhein stuff was all Rubin... I also love he says early on he never listened to AC/DC than later says he didn't like Beastie Boys because they sounded like AC/DC. I think coming from that period of time myself the clich-ish nature of music fandom was not helpful to making good music. The whole punks only listen to punk music and metal heads only listen to heavy metal etc was really backwards imo.

Samhain was better than Danzig, and Slayer sounded better before Reign. I'll always be pissed Rubin came into the picture because I was a Samhain fan and still am. Samhain versions of Twist of Cain and Possession are better. The best Slayer records are Hell Awaits and Show No Mercy. Also, when the fuck are we ever going to know why Danzig and Eerie haven't spoken since the mid 90's? All the other ex Samhain members are cool with Glenn, and Damien has given interviews telling what happened between Samhain and Danzig, and when Glenn asked him to play the Samhain reunion. Steve Zing called Eerie regarding the Samhain reunion and not Glenn? Eerie has never said in any interview what went down. When talking about a reunion he said besides all the original members..." other "concessions" need to be made. I personally think some serious shit must've happened...like someone fucking someone else's gf or something deep and personal. Glenn also has a history of being stubbornly a dick for decades against people who's pissed him off etc
