In part one Eerie talks about how he got involved with the Misfits. How that progressed into him being a member of Samhain and more.

Misery Obscura is a great book, and it really transports the reader back through all the years of the Misfits and Samhain (and early Danzig).

@@CountBeetle Both; some small write-ups recalling Eerie's memories and tons of photos. It is a must have for Misfits/Samhain/Danzig fans.

He was a sick bassist in Samhain. He is such a big part in the build and essence of the band. Best example is on To Walk the Night. Then in Danzig he got buried a lot of the time showing his best playing on 4P.

The original Danzig line up with Eerie Von • John Christ • Chuck Biscuits & of the course the legendary Glenn Danzig \m/ ~ I’m a massive fan of Carnivore & Type O Negative & i’m quite sure most fans of Glenn Danzig & “Danzig” are fans of “Carnivore” & “TYPE O NEGATIVE” the legendary Peter Steele who was approximately 6’7 & in the 80’s & 90’s, especially the 90’s Peter was absolutely a hulk of a man just like Glenn Danzig but Glenn was much shorter lol. The Type O- & Danzig co-headlining tour in the mid to late 90’s was awesome in which i got to witness! I truly like the the current Danzig line up with drummer Johnny Kelly who fits Danzig’s image & style to a tea as well & i’ve seen Johnny with Danzig roughly 3-4 times at “Harpos” in Detroit. Guitarist Tommy Victor fits Danzig as well really well & as most people know his own band, “PRONG” & then bassist Steve Zing who again fits that current Danzig lineup imo + some people might not know but Steve Zing was the drummer for “Samhain”. I think drummer Johnny Kelly could have easily fit the original “DANZIG” line up as well imo if Chuck Biscuits wasn’t around, + Johnny Kelly has the total look as well & is a total class act. I’ve been pretty close friends with him over the years when i first seen “Type O Negative” in London,Ontario,Canada on the “October Rust” tour in 1996/1997 at the old “Embassy Hotel” & then i seen “Type O”’ at “Harpos” in Detroit 3-5 times & at the “State Theater” in Detroit with “COF”. Always great shows!

Eerie rules. Seriously. I'd much rather read/look at his book "misery obscura" then go to a misfits reunion. As fans we are damn lucky to have had Eerie not only documenting this all, but playing in both Samhain and Danzig. So much respect to you Eerie and thank you.

I've got that book and it rocks but fuck...I'd give my little finger to see a reunion of the OG Misfits, Samhain, or first Danzig line up.

Danzig's first album was awesome. I never listened to anything else by him except from Lucifuge (which was great) Samhain is one of my all time favorite bands, As are the Misfits. Memories!!!!

This is fascinating to someone remains a Danzig fanatic since the first time I heard Walk Among Us and the early 45s... I missed the 'original' Misfits but saw all the other ears from Samhain's start through Danzig and the latest reunion phase. Danzig is an anomaly and we'll never see another one. In this interview, Eerie's 'tell it like it was' style and lack of ego is so refreshing... unfortunately, the host comes off as an annoying ass throughout.

@@pjr5913: Maybe I have. Not for me to say. Danzig's lyrics are about killing babies and raping women - he only appeals to creeps. My lyrics are better than that kind of trash.
