I hate so much when I'm watching something brand new that's a story which has been out in another form for many years. The book snobs, the light novel readers, the ones who watched the original series instead of the remake, whatever it happens to be, I'm fucking sick of spoilers being a pastime for them. I've become obsessed with a fantastic anime that's currently airing new episodes. I looked it up, and one of the first things I saw was a massive spoiler because it showed me an image of the last volume of the novels. Then I watched a video on KZfaq, and the first recommended one under it had another massive spoiler in the thumbnail. I decided to check out the series' subreddit. Not only do people not understand how the spoiler functions work on there, so I got a huge one pretty quickly, but there was a motherfucker who loves to troll the place with burner accounts, and I just happened to catch yet another massive spoiler before it was erased. It's like people have no concept that these are separate things, and that new fans might not want to see literally everything from the other media forms right away.

In legit EVERY piece of media where there's a nuclear explosion I get filled with a sense of dread. THAT opening 3 minutes of the show had me laughing my ass off....and then I got sad because I knew it was just gonna get worse from there. Already gave up on Fallout after gritting my teeth through the GoTY edition of 4, and still I got sad yet another one of my favourite franchise's corpse be paraded around.

Fallout is just gonna be another one of those shows that will sour in about a month. Takes time for people to catch up, I guess.

Good stream, but I do wish you guys went a bit more in detail about fallout (the series). The fact that so many people say its always been silly since the beginning and give Bethesda a free pass to screw it up however they please is disheartening. Fallout since the beginning has been gritty and dark with elements of dark humor and satire as opposed to being a full on corny goof-fest for the sake of zaniness. I fear i may never see well-made fallout in my lifetime again, at least i can go back to the 4 decent games and my imagination. Edit: There's also fan-made mods like Fallout: London, Fallout: Miami, Fallout 4: New Vegas, and others that I have my eye on, but it is rather sad that the hard-core fans always have to pick up the slack for Bethesda.

Fallout: Critical Mess

The thing I find kinda wild about the Fallout show is that it's very similar (not identical, obviously) to Rings of Power, with alot of the same problems. They both vaguely mimic the things they are intended to mimic, sure. You can recognize what IP it's supposed to be a part of. But they are both basically just a series of events, of things happening, of characters teleporting around, of whatever the plot needs to happen just happening. The only difference is that, in all honesty, RoP actually feels MORE authentic than Fallout; it's terrible, but it does seem like fan-fiction from someone who is trying to be authentic but only read the Silmarillion once 25 years ago and can't remember hardly any details. Fallout seems like a parody of Fallout; crank up the 50's music, the gore, the dark humor, to the point that it doesn't feel at all like the games, and then stuff it full of memberberries. It's more corporate, more done by checklist. I can see the story they were trying to tell with not-Galadriel and totally-not-Sauron, a story that would almost work if this wasn't totally destroying the lore, but I don't even know what they are trying to say with Lucy and Maximus; Maximus is STILL a loser who fails upwards, and Lucy is still lucky beyond all measure and everything just works out for her to ensure she gets to the next scene. And yes, I will say, it's interesting that I have seen many, many comments defending Fallout, but most of them are just "no it good" and the rest are, at best, defending a few details--no one ever says "This is why it's good" outside of the references. What is good about these characters, the plot, the story, the setting? No one says.

I'm kind of late to this suggestion but what if you called the episode "Fallout: A Post-Nuclear failure in storytelling" or something like that? Basically you'd ape the tag-line of the first game "Fallout: A Post-Nuclear Adventure Game"

i kind of agree with the guy who criticized the animated profile pictures in efap movies. i know it's more work and it does make the video more enjoyable to an extent, but occasionally an efap movies will come out and it will have waaayyy too much pfp animation, to the point that it's difficult to follow what's going on

First time going through Fallout I thought it was ok, but I guessed a lot of it is because the visuals were hitting the nostalgia part of the brain. On the second pass, when I already knew where things were going, the show is outright awful. Practical effects are good, ghoul actor is good and all the rest is garbage.

The poetry that rhymes of EFAP: "Criticism good, until it's my sacred cow." It rhymes, because it keeps happening with every new creator, franchise, IP, whatever. Come on guys, it's okay to like shitty shows. I like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. It's dogshit objectively. It wouldn't survive even the most gentle of crutinies. And I can name another 50 shows like that easily.
