The medicine that stops ghouls from going feral is one of the stupidest retcons in this show. IIRC in the lore, ghouls go feral if they're exposed to too much radiation because they get literal brainrot. But now, here comes a miracle product that apparently stops them from going feral at all if they take it once a day. Medicine this advanced is something that could only have been made before the great war. But ghouls didn't exist before the war. So, why does this serum exist, and on a scale big enough for people to just find it scattered around in the wasteland?

3rd rewatch and already realised something at the beginning. The writers of the Fallout show want us to believe that stupid humans can't complete long-term large scale projects because of our short lifespans, so Bud decided to create his Vault plan based on this. A) they're called books, and they allow the passing on of knowledge so we can keep records of past knowledge to build upon in the future. B) Several large ancient monuments were completed over decades if not centuries of work, long after the original architects probably died of a cold or something. C) Even if Bud is dumb enough not to know about the above two points (thus doing another "haha CEO dumb" meme) I don't think the show is aware of this. Seeing as how they seem to believe that upon opening the Vaults we all return to monkey and live in tents rather than attempting to rebuild civilization.

You try to build a fighter jet after a nuclear apocalypse. With every major industrial site targeted you do not have an industrial base to build that tech again, if ever, for a long time.

@@KS-bb5vl In Fallout games, they did rebuild factories and people had 9 to 5 factory jobs as early as Fallout 2 in the larger communities there was a destruction, but the Vaults had some spare equipment in Cold Storage to restart farming and factory building after the people left the vaults. But patents and copyrights from before the war would be unenforceable, because the enforcement of the laws either wouldn’t be effective or the raiders and mutants would be bigger fish to fry. Either way, there was already widespread cold fusion technology ranging from using a small nuclear fusion reactor as a magazine for a laser gun to using nuclear fusion reactors to power Vaults where people stayed in after the nukes happened. The nukes didn’t destroy the Vaults or the blueprints and construction components for rebuilding agriculture and industry stored in the Vaults.

@@AdrianFahrenheitTepes @AdrianFahrenheitTepes While the first part about factories are true, and the part about micro fusion is also correct, It seems that you do not realize Fallout's nuclear physics is different that irl. Fusion is achieve just several years leading up to the Great War, and it is only in the smallest of applications. in fallout they have trouble scaling up fusion tech, that is why Mass Fusion is a thing in fallout, they are there to scale up fusion tech in order to offer fusion power to everyone, Fusion power is Vaults are really every rated to use for that Vault and not much else. Cold Fusion as it demonstrates in the show can power an entire city. That alone is a massive jump in tech ability, and with the setup it seems to function very differently than regular fusion tech. Moldaver can go searching for Vaults with her cold fusion inside and tool she needs, but who knows which Vault Vault-Tec hide that tech. Outside of that I do not see Moldaver have the ability to recreate Cold fusion not because she does not have the knowledge, but the tooling is lost/destroyed in the Great War. This whole situation will be like "Hey, you can make a steam engine, surely you can make a jet engine." While that seems logical to the uneducated, without the necessary precision tools and equipment, you cannot even make the blades in the compressor of the jet engine.

Well shit. Looks like I was distracted by the fact they finally nailed the aesthetics of a video game, backed it up with some decent actors and didn’t Mary-Sue the main female lead. I was so happy that they had cleared that admittedly low bar that I didn’t think too much about how fucking bad the writing was.

It was more along the lines of all three main characters being in a sense like a Mary Sue. Maximus being an asshole with his actions being hand waved away as “no big deal”. Cooper being conveniently invincible while he could clearly euthanize another ghoul and other ghouls could be gunned down?

I've seriously had people tell me that the show did take itself seriously, then they spent the next 10 comments telling me what scenes were serious, and then i linked the parts that IMMEDIATELY after those scenes turned the scenes into jokes ot exposition that didn't actually matter at all. They got angry and finally said im just a fun ghoul that can't enjoy anything lol, like nah i can enjoy a lot of things, i just have a hard time specifically turning my brain off as a prerequisite for me to enjoy something.

I got to episode 4 and realised I was watching coz I liked fallout 3-4 and vegas…..and wasn’t enjoying the show…so I stopped, the tone was weird and the writing was…..challenging. It for some reason reminding me of that f*cking horrendous show twisted metal or whatever it was called

I am a simple minded human based at the working class in the heart of europe, I was never able to put my feelings about disney star wars in words until I found you Sir. I am an mechanical engineer, the kind that has to get him still dirty. So I have a little above average logic skills and that's why it took me every 5min out of the movie. Now thanks to you I know exactly why. The writers should be ashamed the executives should be ashamed and disney should fall. I am so satisfied with the downfall we experience right now, every missing income is more than deserved for their Hybris.

I really don't understand how they stuffed up Vault-Tec's motivations. Have Vault-tec play both sides in the war. Vault-tec wants endless war with the threat of nuclear annihilation but not the bombs actually dropping. They try to covertly control both the Chinese and American governments to continue the war (perhaps staging some war events themselves when things cool down too much). Then they could say "there's lots of money in (making people think it's) the end of the world" and have it make sense. The satire could directly be about Vault-tec's pride in thinking they can control humanity (both in vaults and society in general). The bombs are dropped (not by Vault-tec) revealing their hubris and downfall. Cooper could learn that his wife, and Vault-tec, is trying to continue the war he fought and lost friends in and be horrified, like in the show. House can be involved with Vault-tec, as in the show, but think they others are too prideful and stupid about human nature so still sets up the nuclear defence system aligning with the lore. Also the mantra "War never changes" could be seen as a statement on human nature. You can't control war. It'll control you cause destruction and chaos beyond what you imagined.
