This channel has definitely came a long way Keav! I just bought one last weekend and fits perfectly on the end of my Kobalt utility cart. I've already got a 3.0 Mosmatic nozzle in the shopping cart at OG and planning on using my OG spray gun! I'm considering the Griot's foam cannon since my PF22.2 is setup for my Active. By the way the Mosmatic wand and sprayer can be holstered in the mounting hardware on the side of the unit. After using a Worx Hydroshot the last two years I was excited to see the EGO unveiled at SEMA!

Fantastic build quality, I would recommend this; I work as a professional car valet and I need something reliable and effective. Early days but absolutely brilliant so far. You should buy the right tool for the job. If you're cleaning a huge area of drive or a really lengthy job, don't buy a cordless! This is fantastic if used for the correct work and is a great tool.

I bought mine from Lowe’s. It’s mostly online, but it is in inventory at a select few of them. Others have confirmed they bought in store. I’m hoping down the road they use some of their commercial landscaping technology for mobile detailer setups. Have you seen some of the landscaping setups they have shown? Big money though. If you are looking to use different batteries the tool only version is on Amazon from EGO themselves for $449. amzn.to/3HC2boV

@@allenrees5803 This is true, but not everybody buying this will be doing it for car washing. In the video I go over all nozzles along with other orifices and shows all the numbers. If you don't want to watch for car washing a 3.5 nozzle on turbo will get you 900 to 950 PSI and 1.67 GPM. A 3.0 nozzle can do 1150 PSI in turbo and 1.6 GPM. The stock 40 degree nozzle can do 2150 PSI and 1.5 GPM.

Thank you for testing the siphon hose + bucket of water method. That’s what I wanted to see, to make sure that method works well. You see, I’m not a car guy like you, but I do have an off-grid cabin on my wooded hunting property that does not currently have running water (AKA, no garden hose to hook up). I’m thinking one of these ego pressure washers may be the ticket for washing the outside of my cabin off via the bucket method, provided I bring enough 5 gallon water jugs from home. I have a 10 gallon pot up there that I can just fill up and dunk that weight to the bottom of it and clean that scuzzy green crap off my cabin as needed. Seems to work well enough, what do you think?
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav Ай бұрын
This thing is more than enough to do what you need and most likely without the turbo mode which will save you battery. The green stuff is usually organic most pressure washer companies don’t even use pressure washers on sides of houses they use concentrated bleach and soft wash it off.

How much quieter is it than the active 2.0. The 2.3 will be released in march so I’m considering returning the ego for that 2.3. I’m using a 45 gallon water tank in my garage so there’s some advantages to lower gpm for me, but I want the better unit and since I have 12 amp outlet I could use either the ego or active. Which unit do you recommend?

I've been trying to find a reason to buy this pressure washer but I'm just not convinced the 1.2GPM is good enough to wash my two SUV's. My experience with 1.2 GPM for car washing hasn't been good so for now I'll stick with my gasoline pressure washer. Thanks for a great review.
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 5 ай бұрын
In the video I show with the White tip it is 2150 PSI and 1.5 gpm, You can also change the nozzle to a 3.5 to get almost 1.7gpm, but turbo mode only lasts 15 minutes. If you already have a gas pressure washer and don't need the siphon function or need the batteries then I don't think it is worth it either. You could run a generator and an active 2.0 for about the same price.

Excellent test as always! You made it clear on the adapter part. I’ve only used it once for the car wash so far lol. Battery, pressure, quality are all good, but there are still some downsides to me. First, I realize 1.2gpm is not enough to rinse off foam smoothly, but thanks to your test, I think a 30, 35 orifice would make it a lot better. I’ve tried the active 2.0 and it definitely feels a lot stronger than 1000psi with the high volume of water. Second, it’s not that portable. It’s not something you can lift easily with one hand and it takes half of the trunk space in my sedan😅. Could be a problem especially when I have to bring at least two 5 gallon buckets full of water.

Have to say that Keav’s simply the best KZfaqr in car detailing. Always offer great tests and useful information rather than mere commercials or just talking to the camera for 80% of the video without showing live footages. He deserves more sub
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 5 ай бұрын
Agreed, it is not very portable. The Ryobi one is much better at that. When I washed my car out of town I needed 15 gallons. 😬 yes, more flow gets better cleaning. There is a balance needed. I actually think the white tip on turbo cleans better than the yellow with that 2150 PSI and 1.5 gpm. Agreed the 3.0 or 3.5 on turbo would be the best for car washing. 3.0 you could use high every now and then to save some battery.

This pressure washer looks amazing. I just don’t get why they don’t include a plug on it that would allow you to hook an extension cord up to it and use a 110 wall outlet when you have one available. Save the batteries for when you aren’t able to use an outlet. Then this would be the ultimate pressure washer.
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 4 ай бұрын
Then they would sell less big batteries. Of course they say their statement is to be portable. I have the same thought with this and the Ryobi. I mean Ryobi has a powered cooler that takes 18v batteries and it can be plugged into the wall or cigarette lighter. Hybrid would be the best way for sure. Most likely for Ryobi it’s that they would hurt market share of their plug in models. Why not just make one product that can do both? 🤷‍♂️

I am a foam cannon newbie. The instructions with this ego power washer seem to indicate that you put undiluted soap into the soap cannon. And then let the mix dial determine the dilution. But other places seem to indicate that you should pre-dilute the soap first. I would appreciate any advice.

@CarsWithKeav 3 ай бұрын
You could go full product, but I don’t like product to sit in the container for long periods if you don’t use it all. I also think you use way more product than you should when going full product. I prefer to pre-dilute as I do with all other foam cannons.

This seems like a good tool for cleaning cars and light duty cleaning. The Cleaning Units of this is 3840 which is high for an electric PW. For example the popular Corded Sun Joe SPX3000 has 3,750 calculated Cleaning Units. By multiplying the PSI rating with the GPM rating, you can determine a pressure washer's cleaning units (CU). But if you are looking to pressure wash driveways and siding of a house, you'll still need to stick with gas as they typically have CU's of 8,000.

Yeah, i find its as an overpriced car washer. Its too weak for heavy duty washing and too strong and expensive for just cars. It would only make some sense if you are a mobile car detailer, but then again, i would still get a small gas powered or corded electric with a dual battery car setup. I personally went with a wall mounted unit for cars and have an Ryobi with a Honda gas engine for everything else.

Keav, No one talks about using hot water with a power washer. It's Winter time and our garden hose are put away and not everyonr can wash their cars in their garage. Can the Ego siphon hot water from a bucket without damaging the unit?
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 6 ай бұрын
So one thing is cold water is really anything less than say 120 to 130 degrees when it comes to pressure washers. Which is about what all residential hot water heaters are set at. Pressure washer hot water usually is 200 degree or higher. They classify this pressure washer as a cold water one. I would think you could run some hot water from your sink for a little bit like maybe a bucket. I would’t go more than that without a cool down as you could overheat the pump and motor. To be safe if you have a thermometer keep it around 100 degrees and should be good. Which is really warm Water. Hope that helps. There are not many residential electric pressure washers that can do hot water.

How would you compare this unit to the active 2.0? What about the upcoming active 2.3. I bought the ego and am considering returning it for the 2.3. Is the pressure of the ego advantageous over the active products? Which would you choose? I have an outlet, 12 amps. I’m using a gravity 45 gallon reservoir in my garage, so a lower gpm means I work less to refill it, but I ultimately want the better unit. I do want a quiet unit, and I do like how this ego is quiet.
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 5 ай бұрын
It is very quiet the water pressure is louder most of the time you only hear it when you stop spraying and it is ramping up and down. SInce you are gravity fed and not needing the self priming feature The 2.0 is superior for car washing and the 2.3 will be another level above that for sure. 12Amps outlet or 15Amps? Active 2.0 operates in the 13 AMP range and up to 14.5 when using a foam cannon. The theory behind more flow is its quicker to wash off and more efficient which is true, but if you are like me and you get that crazy flow it will make you spray longer because its more fun. LOL. 1150 PSI with 1.6 GPM on the 3.0 nozzle is pretty good balanced cleaning numbers for car washing. Compared to the Active 2.0 at like 950 PSI and 1.9ish GPM on a 4.0 nozzle. I think the 2.3 will be in the $500 to $600 range. I am willing to bet selling the EGO on Facebook Marketplace will be pretty easy a few months from now when hopefully the Big Boi Pro or Active 2.3 come out. Selling pressure washers in the spring is best time to do it. If it is anything like the 2.0 release it could be summer. My opinion is I will always go with more flow and the 2.3 will be on my shelf this year and will do all I can to have the first video out. Hope the same for the Big Boi Pro which will be stiff competition.

What would you be doing with the pressure washer would be the best way to know. For car washing there is the Active 2.0 at $350 which is far superior in water flow for efficient washing. For around the house I don't see much competition with how portable it is and that it is self priming for a bucket or water storage. Being in the EGO system brings even more value if you buy the battery model or the tool only. Its is also very quiet compared to anything in that price range and there is good value in the quick connects, hose, etc. They are in stock at Lowes last I saw and the tool only is on Amazon still in stock right now.

You’d be surprised how many would buy this. For sure not for a volume detail setup just based on battery life. This is more of a consumer product used around the house. The batteries is where the cost is. Buying those batteries separate is like $600. I would not use this to wash cars if you have a garage or mobile setup with a generator. Money is better spent elsewhere. If you already have ego batteries like a mower and other things then this for $450 without batteries is more reasonable. Most people who buy and use the higher end EGO tools don’t worry about price when the riding mower is over $5k. I personally based on my situation would not get this, but if I lived in an apartment this might be my choice. I can also get the Ryobi for $600 with two batteries as well. These are residential products, but Ego is really putting tons of R&D into Landscaper mobile setups and hopefully that trickles down to mobile detailing. I always wondered if you put those 4 batteries at $1000 on a power brick and then hooked up your Active, Ryobi, etc. up to it would you get longer life? I might have to try that one day.

If you need the extra batteries then for sure way too much. This is mainly for people with ego tools already to share batteries. Also, more for areas that you can pull water from a lake or bucket. Great for a boat dock and small jobs for sure but meant to do a whole driveway.

Just depends on your needs. It’s for sure one of those products that only is for a small group of buyers.

Not useless at all... Unlike your comment. It's priced out of many people's budgets though.
