Davey (Adam Sandler) escapes from the police singing a song about his hatred of everything, including himself.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Davey Stone (Adam Sandler), a 33-year old party animal, finds himself in trouble with the law after his wild ways go too far. In keeping with the holiday spirit, the judge gives Davey one last chance at redemption -- spend the holiday performing community service as the assistant referee for the youth basketball league or go to jail. This is actually my favorite song cause of those words. *"I hate love, I hate you, I hate me"* His voice sounds so broken cause of the way he conveys this. It's oddly weird how this song specifically stuck out to me, even when I was younger I liked this song. I now know why....

I know a lot of people hate this movie, as it’s crude and gross and immature, but I think it has good qualities. Great animation (same as The Iron Giant), fun songs, and CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Davy goes from a drunken douche to a remorseful, caring person.

I've always held the opinion that this movie would've been great if not for it's immature sense of humor. It's got good songs, good animation, and a pretty solid story. It just sucks that Adam had to Sandler all over it.

Even though this movie gets hate I still like it. It's an animated comedy and it has great character development and that's why I think it's a good movie because of the character development. Davy was a drunk, rude alcoholic who hates Christmas but then at the end of the movie he becomes a remorseful better and caring person.

Watched this film as an adolescent, enjoy it even more as an adult. Brings memories good and bad. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Sandler. He has a special place in my childhood. In my opinion this was one of his last good movies. Such as Billy Madison. Waterboy. Happy Gilmore. Anger Management. Mr. Deeds. Wedding Singer.

Honestly, where my life's going, I'll probably be Davey myself in the foreseeable future. Even being a complete menace to the town looks like it could be fun when you have nothing to lose or gain.

I used to hate this movie....but upon rewatching it recently....its like a perfect millennial Holiday movie... I too have grown to become a hate filled, hardhearted, shithead. Too bad there's no Whitey to try and help me..

It’s not Christmas for me without this movie. I own it on here and it gets me thru what’s a really tough time personally. I think it keeps me from turning to Davey. This is my first listen of the year and the older I get the more the chorus to this really resonates

I think the movie got hate because 90’s-2010’s was about gross out humor and dark humor. And to be fair older people have not liked animation that wasn’t wholesome just because stuff like Disney dominated the American market for what animation is supposed to be. Add that with the Fact it’s also a holiday movie, people are mixed between watching Christmas carol for another 100 years 25/7, then others who watch stuff like Die Hard, Gremlins, or this as part of a wider range of holiday themed movies. Could be wrong but that’s my observation

I can relate to Davey as a teen I was so messed up My Parents Didn't die they were Abusive to me up until I was 3 or 4 but Police came and took me to FosterCare No matter how much People tried to make things fun I Had this rage of hurt and Confusion a Doctor put me on meds that were supposed to Control depression but it ended up hurting my body until another Doctor got me off them I still have the hurt and confusion although im all grown up My Little Brother got kicked out of every FosterHome he has ever lived in. he called me in 2005 after being Arrested for Illegal drugs found in his Car when I refused (mainly cause I dont have that kind of money) he hasn't talked to me since then My Little Sister asked me why am I So mean to my Brother? I can't give anybody money. she told me she will stop talking to me if Im gonna be mean. My other Sister washed her hands of me and is still ignoring me My Dad died in August 2005 My Mom I haven't seen her since My Dads Funeral wich nobody showed up execpt me My Little Sister and My Mom none of his other Kids from his Ex Wife came so Sad thanks for listening

Ok but this movie is good. Yes it has crude immature humor, but if you look past that you got a slightly silly but honestly really moving story. Especially the character arc Davey goes through.
