In this video, Elaine Thompson-Herah shared her immediate thoughts with me after the women's 100m at the 2021 Prefontaine Classic. This was a historic race in Eugene, Oregon seeing Elaine run the 2nd fastest 100m ever with a time of 10.54! She also talks about chasing Flo Jo's 100m world record.

Congrats ET! Although I’m American 🇺🇸, I appreciate your winning gracefulness and competitive spirit. You’re not topping 10.49 though… 😊

@@MJPTV .05 is a TON when it comes to the 100M sprint. In the interview after the race, a female reporter asked E.T.H. if she can improve something to beat that 10.49 and E.T. had a questionable look on her face like ‘there was nothing that could be improved on that race...’ She said she’d have to look at the tape again to see but she KNOWS she ran her perfect race on a fast track. She came prepared but running the best race of her life in perfect conditions netted her 10.54 (phenomenal). Where is she gonna eek that extra .05 from in such great circumstances / conditions???

All it takes is a better reaction time and maybe a little bit of wind. But .05 in sprinting is very marginal.
