I am unable to get the ok over my eye with one of my arms. Thankfully I dont deal with symptoms except for occasionally waking up with numbness (before splinting). If I continue these exercises as well as night time splinting do you think the nerve will recover over time?

Thanks for this video! Question: Elbow flexing over pressure: This one hurts pretty painful not when pressing but when releasing it’s painful in the outer lower bicep area… what could that indicate?

I started having numbness in my pinky and ring finger and more recently severe medial elbow pain. This all started after C 5-6, C 6-7 ACDF. I still have nerve compression and stenosis C 5-6. Drs say it’s not related. What do you think?

Thank you so much. I've been in pain for a month and a half, went to my doctor and urgent care and they prescribed a muscle relaxer, nerve pain pills, and Aleve. I've used only the Aleve and it helps but the pain returns. The "ok" stretch helped tremendously. I felt a pop in my elbow and when I rubbed that cubital tunnel space and felt a loose ball moving around. Idk what it is. Another KZfaq doctor said it's scar tissue.

I have some symptoms and something is snapping back and forth at the elbow MRI report says Mild T2 hyperintense signal is noted involving medial fibers of triceps muscle just above medial epicondyle of humerus suggesting mild sprain.  Mild focal T2 hyperintense signal is noted in ulnar nervelat the same level suggesting focal neuropathy.  No other significant abnormality noted in elbow joint.

Hi Dr. Im convinced after watching this video that I have cubital tunnel syndrome..one question I have is along with all the symptoms you covered I also have a lot of swelling from top of elbow down to the middle of my forearm.& and extreme pain. & I do mean EXTREME..i have pretty high tolerance for pain but this pain is ridiculous..the back of my elbow protrudes out and is very painful... I have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy but am only experiencing symptoms in my feet...the swelling is extreme as well.. My left arm is almost double the size of my right arm around elbow and half way down my forearm.. The pain is so bad I cannot lift my arm at all let alone being able to do the stretching you recommend. I CANT move my arm at all without horrible pain... Im waiting for my insurance to kick in at my new job before I can go to a dr. And advice you can offer me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Dr.

The swelling adds some unknowns to the equation. It could either be a symptom from cubital tunnel itself, or there could be an underlying issue causing the swelling, and that inflammation itself is causing the nerve to become irritated. With trauma and inflammation, scarring can occur, which can also cause the cubital tunnel syndrome. There is a chance that not a lot of success would be made until what may be causing the swelling is diagnosed and corrected. I really wish I could be of more help, but the swelling does complicate things.

I've been getting really bad cubital tunnel pain lately, from working at home. My dining room table has become my desk, and it's not designed for that. :-(

I was diagnosed with cubital tunnel syndrome just two days ago and it’s been bothering me for around two weeks. It does subluxate but only when I do the one movement where I bring my palm to the side of head. Besides that, not at all. I know I’m asking a lot but In your professional opinion do you think I can recover by doing these exercises? I feel it mostly in my tricep. I’m a 21 year old gym rat with mild symptoms and it’s been kind of depressing. I’ve been resting and keeping my arms straight including night braces. Sorry again, it’s just I can’t afford physical therapy. If you reply I’d appreciate it so much or if anyone can share their own story.

sH_SMOKE_Dw Mine got a lot better as time went on. I had to avoid doing incline dumbbells, dumbbell should press, lateral raises, and lat pullovers. I also did triceps a little more than usual but with lower ranges of lotion but still locking out my elbows. Kept my arms straight as much as I could and was always mindful of what type of positions I’m sitting or laying down in. I found that everything had helped. I barely have it at all anymore, thank god. I also did those OK sign flossing where you just move your wrist up and down in the shower quite often.

I'm still getting a hang of KZfaq, and social media in general. Late response... by a looot, but it can take a lot of time doing these exercises to sufficiently mobilize the nerve and all surrounding structures to see a difference. Depending on the severity of the nerve impingement, and how long it's been impinged on, once the offense is removed, symptoms can continue for quite some time. Nerves take much longer than other tissues in the body to heal. One tale that it is healing is that symptoms start to change, itching, numbness, tingling, sensations of hot and cold, different types of pain.

The thumbnail is misleading. If it's cubital tunnel, only half of the ring finger is affected.
