Every time I revisit elbow , they wrap me up and give me the hug I didn't know I needed

A masterpiece, music doesnt get much better than this..

It's unfathomable how you can bend language like Guy Garvey manages. To describe a gang of scrotes dealing drugs as the BMX apothecary, and an Ecstasy tablet as a 'bitter little Eucharist'; taken before worship at the alter of a dingy dance club.... he's a stone cold genius.

So I am one for putting a song on repeat. This is one of them! Painting my hallway and kitchen one evening with this on the headphones. 4 hours passed and it had repeated 41 times! What a tune!!

Just a quick word on this magnificent band, I was very fortunate to sit in a pub and watch them before they were famous, I say pub it was more of a gathering, they then in there obscurity realested asleep in the back, which blew my mind 20 years later they have written and performed to a level which is truly mind blown,I love this band and for me unquestionably the best British band in the last 20 years and probably if they keep writing the next ten years also guy garvey and the boys are suberb may they keep making fantastic records

Why, why does this song bring a tear to my eyes, its so beautiful .

There's so much to love about this: the innocence of youth, the maternal & paternal love from the parents, the bored parents & siblings dragged along, the beautiful trumpet, intelligent lyrics, superb vocals.

Guy Garvey is a brilliant poet. His lyrics are genius. As much as I've loved Jackson Browne for 50 years, he may be as good - or better. Beautiful song.

this song makes me long for lost happy moments with my best friend of 14 years....passed away last November man, this is a hard listen...

love this song and the vocals in that lovely north of england voice and accent- no mid-atlantic shite here. One Day like This with orchestra and choir is bloody beautiful as well.

Well, in my case, it took some years as a huge Elbow fan to realise, this is one the most beautiful songs of all time. Knew it for years and just startet to love it.

Somehow I love Elbow even more now...I didn't think it was possible to love them more than I did!

When I'm a little bit disappointed or tired with my life I watch this video and I feel much better instantly.

God, I love this video. I always think it should be played in Parliament before every vote to remind our ‘representatives’ that these are your people, these people in this video. Ask yourself, is what you’re about to decide going to help these people? This video, this song, is all about our humanity and that we connected by simple yet beautiful things.

Elbow have got me through this pandemic... love Guy Garvey's voice and the lyrics are just superb. This is one of the best tracks from their 2014 album The Take-Off and Landing of Everything.

Like all of us, these children experience all that life offers: happiness, interest, enthusiasm; and then also some sadness, disappointment, insecurity. If we can maintain some inner strength, we ride that rollercoaster with some degree of success which is LIFE.Beautifully done.

Saw them in Nottingham - truly brilliant! This song done live..I was lost for words

A perfect reflection of my life in the 90's Back then we had our own "BMX apothecary" and his bag of bitter little eucarists. We are all older and wiser now but for me it captures the Sunday morning 6am walk from club to car. Exhausted.deshevilled but would'nt be anywhere else with anyone else.

I occasionally get goose pimples for a few seconds all over my body when I listen to a great tune, but with this it lasts all the way through the song! beautifully written and great live, watch (Jools Holland live) The lyrics are so touching and well structured.

The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon had Elbow on recently. I'm so grateful! Digging deeper now. Wonderfulness!
