Fair play to the rules designers for the Eldar as they clearly care about the faction and put a tonne of effort in but how that list of rules got past any kind of balance meeting is baffling.

I wouldnt worry about the mek guns looking different, were on about orks, they bodge anything together to make stuff work, thats the best thing about orks.

Ork vs eldar is such a classic matchup. From the hate between orks and elves in Tolkien to the 40k lore of the old ones making both and the eldar hunting orks and on and on. It just FEELS right, you know?

Unless it was FAQ it says you have to use the fate dice before you roll. There is unparalleled foresight where you can reroll 1 dice after the fact.

Its good to see a more balanced eldar list, but even then it was brutal! Just so Heathage knows Wraithguard have been nerfed not to have the pistol keyword anymore, its on their online index cards.

1s used to be ok because of morale but the battle shock mechanic means 1s are worthless all the time now.

Eldar do not taste like Skittles, they taste like fruity bubblegum. Whenever you hear somebody explain all the Eldar rules, you really do see how much these index/codex rules are designed separately with different ideas of what the edition is supposed to be balanced as. Turn 1 Waagh, rather risky maneuver, since it limits how many Eldar you can krump for the feel no pain. Still don't get why some secondaries are allowed to be scored before the end of Round 1 if you go first, given the opponent had no way to deny you getting those points. Seesh took some rather poor rolling here from the Eldar and the Ork to make some improbable saves for the Ork to stay in this.

Did you always roll for the battle shock tests? The fire prism on one wound could have failed it twice on the marker, so the guardians and Warlock, who fell back (and could have had to make a desperate breakout test then).. anyways, I always love to watch your reports, thank you.

I feel like the only thing needed to bring Eldar into non-oppressive and unfun territory it to change the detachment rule. What puts them over the top is the combination of fate dice AND every unit being able to reroll a hit AND a wound. Without the rerolls, those fate dice become a precious tactical resource that you have to split offensively as well as defensively. As it stands they are simply hitting everything way above average AND can autohit/wound AND can auto pass saves. Thematically fate dice are a cool concept, but logically if "fate" is the theme, they should be the ONLY form of dice manipulation Eldar get, no rerolls anywhere in the army. That is fate. Fate dice should REPLACE any kind of reroll for the army. Have it be the unique flavorful mechanic that makes this army stand out and play differently than the other factions. I'd even say they should lose access to command point rerolls. Then fate dice not only are balanced and thematic, but it makes their use truly a limited resource and tactical consideration that has to be used wisely, instead of the "ok I guess I'll just autopass every roll that matters because I can reroll everything else anyway" mentality as it currently stands. It's a dice game where currently one faction basically never has to keep the dice they roll, which just feels bad for everyone involved.

Anything that manipulates dice rolls really feels like it breaks the core idea of tabletop wargaming. Re rolls are one thing but any mechanic that allows you to simply choose a number doesn't seem to be in the spirit of the game.

I'm a long time supporter of Winters but it's a bit annoying to see so many Eldar mistakes. Yes I know Heathage is new to the faction in 10th. Maybe should have played a few practice games first? - You can't use SoF dice when rolling for number of shots - Unparalleled Foresight applies to both shooting and fighting - Wraithguard were nerfed and lost Pistol ability - Twin linked shuriken catapults are only 2 shots in 10th edition - Forgot twin-linked re-rolls multiple times - Shuriken cannon have Sustained Hits 1

All that Eldar bullshittery... looks like a lot of NPE to me. And quite honestly makes it pretty annoying to watch as well...

Has to be the worst first battle round of any eldar player ever! Then again, he only learned the rules the other day. Phantasm would have been very helpful, or just not overcomitting against a powerful melee army. Loving the Winters salt!! Eldar, like all factions are having their day. But it will get balanced out. I just love that SMs get free guide and doom in 10th, and desolators which are basically better dark reapers from 9th, and for all those guns and flexibilities they still get upset by terminator equivalents that can’t run in units of 10 or deep strike. Hahaha Eldar hate is real, and as a life long Eldar collector I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m enjoying it just a little lol! But yes, Eldar are not balanced atm… I’ve actually put mine away - onto necrons!
