I love it when people apply real life practices to video games. Biology, physics, now criminal psychology and detective work. This is just fun.

I would love to see an investigation into Thops's death, his situation always seemed so strange to me. His death looks like it was oddly peaceful, you simply find him sitting at his desk, as if he just keeled over for no reason while he was studying

I genuinely got Hyetta and Irina mixed up, I thought they were the same character. Knowing that they were designed to look the same and have the same voice actor makes me feel a bit better now :D Also, I love your music choices, they make the video feel so vibrant!

IMHO a misbegotten killed Irina, sensing an opportunity a demon that calls herself Hyetta took control of her corpse, and manipulated Edgar into giving in to the frenzied flame, and then tried to do the same to the PC. One key difference is that Irina is blind, Shabriri was able to guess from our faces that we knew the corpse he currently controls, Hyetta, being blind, assumes we have never seen Irina before.

Actually insightful observations about the Irina body discrepancy with a tongue & cheek tone to the whole thing. Very nice!

I've pondered this every time I've done the quest since release day. I think Shabriri briefly took over or influenced Edgar in a way that brought him to kill his daughter. The sword itself he is so dutiful towards is a revenger's weapon, steeped in anger and regret, the exact emotions Edgar expresses over her body. The ghost in Liurnia says the Frenzied Flame melts all things into one, but explicitly mentions love & revenge. Strange combination. So, imagine Shabriri somehow used Edgar to kill his beloved daughter, driving him mad with a lust for revenge, leading him to pluck his own eyes out in madness & agony. It seems fitting that a spirit which only enters the world through suffering might use this perverse irony, a daughter eating her tortured father's own eyes, to further its plan. Yura only gets puppetted by Shabriri after great pain and suffering at the hands of the woman he pursues. It seems thematically mirrored to me. There are loopholes of course. I'm pretty sure that if you fast-travel to Irina's grace after giving Edgar the letter but before getting the sword, she's still dead. And he's still in the castle. Hm. Hmm. Still unsolved.

there is no death in the lands between yes? so its possible they get reborn, and irina doesnt serve any entity while hyetta is guided by the three fingers making her a maiden

Here's a thought: what if Irina got infected by the Frenzied Flame, caused the misbegotten to go berserk and then infected her father when he eventually found her?

i bought elden ring day one on release, i waited weeks before attempting a run, watching other people play and for more of the game's lore to be revealed. i wanted a proper theme for my run and i finally found it when i heard about the slain maiden to be at the begging of the game and i was also going to slay anyone calling me maidenless since how would they know unless they knew/heard about the plot to trick me int accepting another maiden and for good measure to slay anyone calling me tarnished. the first two o killed on my revenge run was varre since it was obvious and the second was shabriri because although he helped me out i just didn't trust him. long story short i was tricked into accepting another maiden who turns out to be a boss so now i have to start my run over. i will be looking more into maiden slayers in this game to map out a better run, thank you so much for this video.
