Fred Astaire once admitted that "Eleanor Powell is the only woman I can't out tap dance" This is a great routine & you will never find one better.

Thanks to KZfaq this piece of movie genius will be around forever and in a thousand years time, people will still be amazed at this superb display of musical, dancing and presentational talent. Thank you Hollywood - for all your shortcomings, you gave us magic like this.

This is amazing to watch! The year: 1940 (69 years ago). Frank Sinatra narrated it and it was filmed in one unedited camera shot. It is considered by many to be the best dance scene ever filmed. Brilliant

Sheer Magic. First time I ever watched the Dame (Sweet Eleanor Powell) more than I watched Fred in a dance routine. mmmm makes me cry, it's so pretty and perfect

Eleanor was always my personal favorite and this is exactly why. She's so relaxed, so at ease and clearly outclassing any other female paired with Fred.

These artists worked hard for hours every day to do this. Today it's impossible to see something like this.

Starts off subdued, but I love this number and I especially love the ending with all the twirling--fantastic.

I saw this film a multitude of times during the pre-video, pre-dvd years. One of the finest, and you WILL never see the likes of this again.

I've been around a long time Fred Astaire is the best I've seen, always hits that impossible extra few taps or swings and can go from flat out to super slow on the drop of hat.
