At this point I'm watching all your videos actually. I was blown away at seeing the first electric blue acara because I really hadn't been in fish for 25 years and they didn't exist back then. And blue cars were hard to distinguish from other fish because they weren't that flashy These are incredible fish and I would like to do one someday

I keep 8 of them in a 60gal with a chocolate albino pleco. Very docile and beautiful fish. They love bigger groups.

Hello! How many EBA’s would u recommend for a 55gal? I also heard that they are peaceful enough to be grouped with gold or cherry barbs. Is this true?

I haven’t kept more than one personally, but I imagine 3-5 in a 55 would be fine, just make sure you have good filtration and stay up on maintenance! My EBA is pretty peaceful, I think they would do well with smaller fish. However, I would have a backup plan :)

I have a 40 Gallon breeder tank and wanted to stock it with 1 Electric Blue Acara, 2 Bolivian Rams, and 5-6 Tiger Barbs. Do you think this would work?

I have a question i didnt know the sex so i thought i had a male so i got another female but i think the other whone is a female to they are doing fine together but is it good over time to have two females

Stunning thank you, i have 2 questions: - what kind of cichlids cross breeding to get Blue electric acara? - what is the tds of water breeding pls? My regards

There is some uncertainty as to the origin of the Electric Blue Acara. It could be a cross of Blue Acara with something else or it could have been the result of selective breeding. As far as TDS for breeding goes, unfortunately I don't know! I don't breed fish myself so I wouldn't want to give you any tips there 😊

Hi Do you think i could keep a Blue Acara cichlid in a 21gallon tank standard with other fish?My filtration System is very overpowerd and not much fish.Great Video.

I think you are referring to EBA, I would say that you would be pushing it in a 21 gallon with other fish. One EBA and a few small fish could probably work in a 21, but I wouldn’t over do it. Make sure to check your water regularly. Best to go bigger if you can.

Acara's get to approx 6-7" so minimum tank size should be 55g or more...especially with other fish

That can happen. If you put them back together make sure have something to break the line of site between the two, this will help to reduce aggression. Might not fix the problem completely though. Good luck!

Bigger is always better but I would say that could work reasonably well If that's what you have. Just make sure to test your water and make sure you have adequate filtration. 👍

I'm wanting to put about 5 tiger barbs, 5 green moss barbs, 1 jewel cichlid and 1 electric blue acara all in a 55 gallon tank, you reckon that's possible ?

Goldfish and Koi prefer cooler water. Angelfish and Acaras should do fine together though. 👍

okay so i like in south africa, i have 2 blue acaras, 4 silver dollars, 1 angel, and 1 comet in a 10 gallon tank, they seem to be fine, but once i see growth changes, ill get them into something bigger

Absolutely! They are very interactive fish, interacting with you just as much as other fish.

Petco does sometimes, i bought mine there. I luckily got a pair eventhough they didn't seem like so when they were small. Now they just bred and had their first clutch of fry. Very much worth the trouble, when they're full size they're a beauty to behold. Give them a nutritious diet, a 40 breeder sized tank with proper filtration and they'll be happy:) Good luck with the search👍

Yes, as long as the group contains the same amount of males and females, so they all have a mate. These fish mate for life, and if there is one left without a mate, it will be picked on and chased.

They are great fish! My EBA is like a dog. It has loads of personality and is a joy to watch. I would definitely recommend them!

This aquarium is a 29 gallon. It’s a standard size available at most pet stores. I like it because it’s long and 20 long lid fits in a 29 interchangeably. Thanks for the comment!

Yes, these fish form pairs that mate for life! I feel sad for him alone in that tank with nothing but one rock and alot of algea.

JUPITER King Of Fire For sure! I usually see them going for 20-30 bucks or so for a 2 inch fish. I paid 25 for mine!
